I've Slipped into a ...

I seem to have slipped into a non-posting comatose/catatonic posting state relative to induced depression via ND losses.

I do still read anything interesting or positive, but truly can't hack the negativity given my frame of mind. Many questions come to mind. A few things I can't help but ask myself are as follows:

Does our current team culture forbid good results due to the unnecessary and un-needed pressures our fan base and alumni place on our ND head coach?

Is it possible to retain CW as a offensive coordinator? (I love his offense...)

How close were we truly to being 10-0 at this point? (I can't help but feel a couple of calls changed this along with some fate involved, honestly)

Who's next on the coaching list of hopeful (afraid but gamblers) head coaches?

I, of course, have many more thoughts and questions but these seem to top my list. I appreciate the positive people on this board and those truly looking to enforce positive thinking which equates to construction in respect to fixing what's wrong rather than bashing and further self-destructing our already volatile and unhealthy state of minds altogether.

Cheers for my bros. Cheers for my hoes. For those disrespectful and ill-equipped negative thinkers, you're number one!:countdown

Yes. A coach with no experience like Weis will fail at ND. How can aguy take nothing in 05 and turn it around only to fall apart with so much talent. I would argue that all the BS from fans, and alums have contributed to his downfall. Thats why Holtz and Ara say this is a ten year job because even they felt the heat from everyone. That is why coaches shy away from Notre Dame. How can you expect 18-22 year old kids to deal with the pressure of knowing theyre performance will directly affect the future of their coach. Oh and on top of that you have to pass your classes and win champinships

I can see why competitive athletes and coaches want to come here for the challenge, but i can also see why coaches shy away. Look at charlies tenure here. Look at his press conference in which he accepted the position, and look at him now. The man has aged 20 years in 5 years.

I actually feel bad for the guy, because overall he is a very good man. People hate the man, but he has represented us well in his actions. The on field results have not been there consistently, and time is running out for him as a coach.

He has the program set up for wins, and if we dont bring in the right coach if weis is gone, we are screwed yet again. Its very very frustrating.

I have to say that I appreciate this forum so much, because every time I get a little bit down on ND as a team or Charlie as a coach, someone brings up a good point. Maybe that is just us being blind optimists, but I would rather take that any day than the cynicism that I see from many other fans (both ND and otherwise).

The more and more I think about it, let's give Charlie another year. I know this has been said before, but I don't see how this could really hurt. Firing him could really hurt. This way we give possible candidates another year in which to prove themselves, and Charlie as well. I am hopeful for a good end to the season. If we were to lose the last two, or it looks like the team is lost, then what I said above is null and void, and Charlie should probably go.

Drink a lot of fluids.

Urinate a lot but not like the posters that haven't been hydrating.

Theraflu worked for me. And sitting in a sauna.

As far as CW and last night's game... I told an anti-ND guy sitting next to me who was competing for the same boobied and curvacious woman that this might be the end of CW's reign. That thought is based on anti-CW fan opinion.

But look folks. ND recruits students that can play some good football. I'm sure someone can come up with stats about average age of college athletes. These guys were young and are getting older.

Again, I was surprised to hear the outpoor of anger on the phone from the most loyal ND fan I know a few hours ago.

I still say be patient for another year.

Look I like Charlie as much as the next guy but the fact remains he hasn't been the savior of this program we all hoped he would be & it's extremely painful to admit that. I too remained fairly quiet on these boards after the NAVY loss & intentionally avoided the "Fire Charlie" threads but I don't think I can ignore the writing on the wall for much longer.

As fans most of us have endured a lot under Charlies tenure but have continued to remain faithful & loyal praying that somehow, someway each season & each week he figures out a way to get it turned around. We endured the 3-9 season. The mediocre 7-6 season last year was chalked up to an improvement & we endured that. Now we sit on the verge of an even worse record faced with enduring it all once again. Personally I can't take much more. I can't take much more of watching what is quite possibly the best offense in all of College Football either fail to get it done or barely get it done week in & week out because the head coach is not capable of putting it all together.

My heart simply cannot take it anymore. I told myself after the NAVY loss that Weis would really have to show me something different against PITT. I truly believed from the bottom of my heart he would. I expected to see a coach & a team with its back against the ropes, full of passion & desire to come out swinging. Once again they were dry & flat until it was too late.

Coach Weis is an incredible football mind but he lacks the leadership skills required to compete at the level we need to however I don't have the answer. I still believe firing him is a step in the wrong direction but only for a year or 2. The alternative (at this point) doesn't appear to be a step in the right direction either.

What I do know is that Charlies future is not up to any of us. We can rant & rave or support all we want on an internet forum & it won't change a thing in the real world. Whatever this University decides I will support with blind faith just as I always have & always will but they will make that decision without any of us.

I truly enjoy these forums & enjoy almost every post whether I agree with it or not. I appreciate the guy's passion who wants Charlie gone as much as the guy who will support him no matter what. Sure they're are some Negative Nancie's but hey it's the internet, you get to say what you want with very little repercussion. At the end of the day we're all just loyal & passionate fans of Notre Dame & we all want the same thing, a return to glory.

I have a feeling three to four posters on this forum really aren't ND fans at all and purposely stir the pot. I also believe in 80% of Zeitgeist, and would choose to omit the religion parts. I also believe the big push and spotlight on H1N1 was and is merely just a ploy or decoy of sorts to mask other more obvious media spotlight towards a push for socialism. I also believe the Kennedy assassination to have been an inside job of sorts. Or maybe someone really just loved Marilyn Monroe that much.

You seriously underestimate the number of trolls.

I never gave a thought to the Yankee Clipper being on the Zapruder film. Hmmm
