Great read here about what the Fighting Irish have been lacking these past few years (imo we play like we don't want to lose, not like we want to win) that I stumbled upon after watching the ESPN 30 for 30 "The U" special.

For those of you to lazy to read, watch this video and understand the intensity that I think BK will bring back to the Fighting Irish, something we haven't had since Lou left us.

Maybe I'm just being nostalgic and reaching, but I think the tide may be turning and the sleeping giant may awaken.

Go Irish!

"And they were a lot more like the Miami Hurricanes than most Domers would like to admit." Except the Irish players had IQ's that were in triple digits!

Notre Dame Needs To Be More Like The “U” is a contradiction in terms. When I read the article I assumed it was written by a 16 year old turns out he's a 27 year old impressed with gangbangers. I read all the articles on his site. He trolls for hits.

ND doesn't need to b like da U. ND beat them with an very talented and well coached football team. Tony Rice may have been the only one of the ND starters that didn't play in the NFL. That's on BOTH sides of the ball something like 21 players.

I 've not done a count but I suspect there were more ND players drafted by the NFL from 1986 through the NFL draft of 1994, which was Vinny Cerrato's last group of recruits, than the number of ND players drafted from '95 to '09 a period twice as long.

ND has had a Defensive Coordinator of Barry Alaverz caliber since he left.

ND doesn't need thugs it's just needed great coaching and a team of great players. It hasn't had either since '93.

Anyone that thinks ND needs to be like da U hasn't a clue about the mission of Notre Dame.

I think you're missing the point of what the author of that article was trying to say. Did you watch the video? When Lou Holtz says, "SAVE JIMMIE JOHNSON'S ASS FOR ME!" and Rocket got goosebumps, that's legendary stuff.

What he was trying to say about us needing to be more like "The U" was that swagger, inner confidence, toughness (mental and physical). When I posted originally what I said still holds true to my belief about ND football. It seems lately like we always play not to lose, instead of going out and ripping some guys face off. I think we may have gotten lightning in a bottle with that passion and energy that BK has.

Go Irish!

I notice the JC avatar that is so popular. It cuts short the part where JC turns back to Gunnell after he pushes him and says "FUCK YOU".

lol need to find that one. Actually found this the night it happened & never looked for another. Prob about time for a change in sig seeings he's leaving us but I'm kinda partial to it :p

you know i watched the miami university 30 on 30 or whatever it is and at first it was funny looking back at how retarded these kids were, then i think about the kids i see on the street everyday and realize that they are in some part like this because of knuckleheads like the kids who played at miami 30 years ago. those are now parents well grantparents in some cases.
