B.C Lions

Jarious Jackson Q.B 3rd string

Signed as a free agent by the Lions in 2005, Jarious started the season on the practice roster before injuries opened up a spot on the active roster. Made his CFL debut on Sep 8/05 vs Ottawa. Completed his first CFL pass attempt vs Winnipeg on Oct 22/05 and also rushed 3 times for another 14 yards. Was on the active roster for a total of 8 games

Wow I was gonna list everyone but thats it. I'm a little surprised

Jarious got the unfortunate circumstance of being stuck at Notre Dame in a time of offensive uncertainty. Moving kids all over the place, having an average running back and capable, but inexperience wideouts all hurt him.

Not to mention the line didn't help him out much, either. It was like his options were to throw an interception, fumble or get creamed every fifth play. Good luck to him in his professional football endeavors.

i gotta say, i hate jarious jackson. that guy was a turnover machine.

That's a bit unfair. He had really mixed coaching and he gave everything for the team. That guy left his heart on the field...that's all I can ask of a player.

That's out of line Albuquerque. I assume you know nothing about football. They might not have won a game in 99 if not for JJ, and in 98 he was awesome, didn't play vs SC orin the Gator Bowl. If Mike Shanahan drafts you and gives you 4 years your doing something right. Get a clue, you probably think Rick Mirer sucks too.

To be honest with you...Meh. It appeared though as if he did have some potential, grew into the system, I guess he just never panned out.

I think Dan Stevenson will eventually go to the CFL

Spot on...

Let's face it...JJ was a playmaker. If he did not pop his knee on that one last play, the season most definitely would have ended differently. And that was not bad coaching, he simply waited 2 seconds too long.

Dan Stevenson To The Cfl?

Dan Stevenson To The Cfl?

On what basis do you make this assessment????? Have you been following his developments since graduation and the NFL Draft?
Dan Stevenson just signed a four year (rookie maximum) contract with the Patriots. Bill Belichick has a history of contacting former coaches and associates for their player assessments before the draft. [Notice how many players are on their rooster from LSU (when Saban was coach), Fresno St (Pat Hill) and now Notre Dame (Charlie Weis).]
They have a history of taking undrafted and low-round picks and letting long-time coach Dante Scharneccia turning them into serviceable pros - See three Super Bowl victories with only one lineman, LT Matt Light, a high draft pick (2nd round, Purdue). The only exception was Logan Mankins, from Fresno State, a surprise first-round draft choice two years ago. RG Steven Neal, for example, the near Pro Bowl-caliber lineman was an undrafted free agent who was a college wrestler.
Last year, Coach Weis mentioned that Dan Stevenson "reminded him of OG Joe Andruzzi, [described as not flashy; but a steady, dependable, workman-like type] a player who[m] he had coached in NE."
The Patriots place a great deal of stock in versatility [Notice that Coach Weis is recruiting players who can play more than one position. Guess where that idea came from?]. Dan Stevenson was used at both OG and C, as well as long snapping at the rookie and recently completed mini-camp.
Patriots Football Weekly, the official newsnewspaper of the New England Patriots, when assessing the rookies and free agents, mentioned that "Dan Stevenson looked good in both mini-camps so far and could end up being the steal of this draft for the Patriots."
It doesn't sound to me like Dan Stevenson is going anywhere but Foxborough, MA!

the broncos were really high on JJ at one time, than he started a game and they weren't so high on him anymore...

He's made a nice chunk of change though, so I don't feel bad for him. He was the only player we had drafted that year, in the 5th round I believe. The ESPN pundits had a field day with that...
