None of us can really know for certain at this point whether Golson is the answer at QB, but we do know that Rees and probably Hendrix aren't the answers.

Ill wait and hold judgement on Hendrix when he is able to start and play the entire game.

If young Mr. Baratti did indeed say this, I expect that Brian Kelly and Manti Teo are going to have a talk with him about what it means to be a teammate at Notre Dame.

A missed field goal and three bad INT's are not the coaches fault. Those were some badly thrown balls. It would have been 4 if Floyd isn't being Floyd in the end zone.

Two picks were in the end zone which is at the VERY, VERY least 6 points (two field goals). Another pick setup FSU in terrific field position and then add the missed field goal. I'll even give Ruffer the benefit of the doubt on this one as it was a 48 yarder from the left hash. Well within his career long of 52 but still a tough kick.

Even on one of the balls that Rees tried throwing away a defender got his hands on it.

Disagree to an extent.Yes,the first pick was terrible, but we did turn them over and return a fumble for TD on the very next play,so that pick didn't cost us any points at all.Other than that you're accurate.

AH could end up being great. Why is it that TR was the only qb that had an eternal leash? He could throw rex grossman style interceptions and still play. That is what I have the problem with, I was hoping BK saw something in Rees that I did not but now I just think he was flat out wrong.

Im thinking that BK saw TRs football smarts and knowledge of the offense as factors outweighing his lack of mobility and arm strength.

Sure because why else would he start? TR has to have some innate qualities that have impressed BK throughout the season. Those perceived qualities by BK have to outweigh in some fashion the raw abilities of both Hendrix and Golson. I am of the opinion that if BK thought Hendrix and or Golson were ready to start he would have tapped their shoulders much earlier this season. This may come off as a Reese support argument but its not, Ive been wanting to see Hendrix start and play a full game since Air Force.

PS that dogs face always cracks me up.

Hendrix wasn't ready because BK didn't prepare him. That's on the coach's decision to focus on Rees rather than preparing Hendrix in order to use his talents.

I really don't like the way Hendrix was handled for this game. I feel like he was being pressured into making a big play because he needed to be waybetter than Rees just to play. He tried to force it on his pick even though Eifert was open right by him. I think Kelly handled that poorly.

Hendrix and Rees are responsible for their efforts on the FB field. They play for the University of Notre Dame for gosh dang sakes...

They were prepared to make decisions.

They chose unwisely.

We need a commander in the huddle.

Hendrix may become him for which I speak. Or Golson. Or Fuller. ;)

Is there any correlation between playing piano and being a good QB? Because for some reason, watching Golson play piano made me think he'll be a great QB.

New QB???

New QB???

How can you judge either one? Kelly played a bowl game like it was practice.
What kind of a D1 coach changes QBs in the middle of a drive? What a stupid bush move.
Wonder how many recruits are not walking, but running away from this moron.

Lol, I have no logic or rational behind it. Never even played piano myself, but something about hearing he's a great piano player made me think 'oh boy, this is the one'.

After this season by Ruffer I can't wait for Nick Tausch who has 2 years left and was a Groza semifinalist as a frosh. His inaccuracy this year cost us at least 2 games.

I agree with this. But, I think Tausch only has one year left. Unless he didn't see action this year than two, but I think he had some PT this year.

Why in the heck are some people writing Andrew off already?

The kid has played around 3/4 of a game this year. and about 85% of the season he was getting third string reps in practice.

No one can write Hendrix off this quick. Anyone that does is completely irrational.

Support Tommy Rees and think he's great no matter what

I don't know if you ever played football, but if a freshman publicly disrespected players back in my day, there would be consequences. I suspect things haven't changed, and if he said it, there's going to be consequences. It has nothing to do with this little internet drama with Rees/Hendrix/Crist/Golson. It's about a code of discipline and honor within the team unit. It is an essential part of winning.

I listened to a sound bite from Coach Kelly and he said that if a recruit doesn't commit because of a bowl lose then they probably didn't have a real shot at them anyways. I agree with that statement a great deal. How many times have you seen a really good team become poor the following season or vice versa? and the recruits still come. Fact is we have real potential we are just missing the key piece we need consistent QB play. For any of the "skill" guys wavering "WR." we should just send them Golson's highlights.

Really? What about a team that can't Finish? Or a Team that has a offensive minded coach that struggles against a team that is average?

Sometimes high school kids don't think before they speak (type). If I was his high school coach I'd let him know that it isn't ok to say that kinda thing. I work w/ kids that age all the time and the bottom line is....they just don't really know any better yet..he'll grow up..now......back to licking my CSB wounds.....

Amen to that. I lean towards Hendrix starting simply because he has an extra season of learning the plays under his belt and the fact that he has proven toughness when being chased/taking hits.
