MyP2P.eu :: Free Live Sports on your PC, Live Football, MLB, NBA, NHL and more... is a concise list of sports events from all over the world. Pretty good site and there are a bunch of other ones. Just google it and you'll find plenty of directories. This should suffice for the time being.

Since you don't have cable you prolly don't have espn3, but they usually have plenty of programming going. Kind of hit or miss as to whether it's what you're looking for.
