CW left the door opened. These are fair statements for the media to make.
If he stays one more year, the students here will be extremely angry.
This team is no better than they were last year. We won three more games bc we played shittier teams. Thats a coaching problem. We almost lost to Navy bc we went too conservative too early. Thats a coaching error. We lost to Pitt and UNC bc we were way too soft in the second half. That is a coaching error. The reason this team is flat is bc of Weis' personality. If you go to a pep rally, you will know exactly what I'm talking about. Weis has to go. And I was a huge Weis fan at the beginning of the year too
No I get your point, we have improved, but all in all we are pretty much the same team. I think the only reason we have played any better is just experience the players have gained through getting another year under their belts and just raw talent from incoming freshmen. When I say the team isnt any better I mean from a coaching standpoint.
Neutered: Duke has won 6 games in the last 8 years. Last I checked they won 4 this year, over I think 0 last year. Weis, needs to go.
I am not sure you guys understand the reality of a young team starting from scratch learning from hard knocks. If the student body is pissed, believe me, these guys will rise. With fury.
Charlie: Get off the message boards and get back to work!

Timugen!!!!!! Dude, please be our new AD.

Agree. I still say one more year.
This is a quote off a blog about the situation with CW. Thought it was well said:
Weis does seem better suited to the NFL and ND is about to finish in disarray for the second straight season, but I'm not so sure Charlie doesn't get another shot next year.
One- There's a matter of a $20 million buyout. Two- He's apparently very successful at bringing in talent. Three- I'm not sure Weis has proven beyond a doubt that he's incapable of changing his ways and assistants to better develop all that talent. Four- There's nothing "inevitable" about a USC/ND game that hasn't been played yet. Sometimes they end the way you expect, but just as often they don't.
When I say the team isnt any better I mean from a coaching standpoint.
So you think Golden Tate turned into a legitimate receiver all by himself? Maybe he played a bunch of XBOX 360, and learned how to run real routes, other than the fly pattern? You think the defense playing better (certainly not great, but much better than last year) doesn't have anything to do with coaching? I'm just as disappointed as anyone else, but to say that there has been NO coaching going on is just angry talk. It's just not true.
First time ND has lost to an 8 loss team as well... Another dubious distinction.
The key to firing Weis is this...
Who will replace him?
If we can FIRMLY answer that question THEN we can fire him.
