When everyone was complaining about the political threads in the leprechaun lounge, why dont we just get a forum for republicans democrats, independents libertarians, commies, w/e. Put it maybe where all the pro sports are. Or is my idea easier said than done

I first time I saw it mentioned was in some reaserch info that I had when I was writing a paper about Winona LaDuke for a friend. Her IUSB professor is the one who assigned the subjuect for the paper. Some of the quotes in the info from LaDuke make me think she is one of the biggest wackos I've ever run accross. She actually tried to say that Saddam wasn't probably as bad as everyone made him out to be, and she didn't really know what to believe anymore because she couldn't trust the main stream media because they try to put such a right wing spin on everything. LOL

Just to add an amendment to your suggestion. I think we should make the upcoming Presidential primaries & then the Presidential election a bet on the Sports Book. I'm not sure the dates of these events, but I'm sure Vegas or someone has odds.

I've heard various talking heads predict McCain vs. Hillary or Rudy vs. Hillary based on the fact that both parties, when all is said & done, will resort to the safe choice. Anyway, I think the whole election is a crapshoot, so it should be interesting.

My money is on the Democrat winning in '08 (not that I want that to happen)...kinda like 1968 when an unpopular Nixon narrowly defeated a popular Hubert Humphrey b/c he promised to get us out of Vietnam. The only thing different is that the parties are switched: Hillary is polarizing, if not unpopular, & will promise to get us out of Iraq whereas Rudy is more popular to the general population based on his actions dealing w/ 9/11 & in cleaning up NYC. Just a theory.

I see Rudy winning. I don't think Obama will make it by the Clinton money machine. Although, it is very early, and he does have a chance. Alot of moderates/righties (and many women) don't care for Hillary, and won't vote for her because she is so polarizing. Plus, I think some people are tired of the whole 'legacy' thing going on in the W.H.
I just hope it doesn't get too ugly. We're supposed to all be Americans ya know.

Agreed. I wish campaigning wan't such an animal in its own right. Cap the money candidates can spend on campaigns. It's so interesting when some of these candidates speak about helping the poor, and then they spend millions upon millions on a campaign. Or in Edward's case, get a multi-million dollar home.
