1. Explain what a "dodger" is...
2. Who was Jackie Robinson traded for
3. Who saved the flag from burning, if you're a dodger fan no more info should be needed
4. Who blew "the series" with a passed ball and what was his name and year it happened?
5. Who was on base when Gibson hit his shot?
6. The dodgers played in how many parks since Ebbets... name them.

couldn't tell you... but I didn't look for any of these, all of the tp of my head... you got a round of dodger trivia cause I could make your head spin

Good job, Bubba. I came up w/ these ?s off the top of my head. I don't have the time to get on google or wikipedia & that other crap, so I hope I got the details correct. The catcher who caught a no-no from both Koufax & Ryan was journeyman catcher & future manager, Jeff Torborg.

Fred Lynn in 1983, I belive it was in Chicago if memory serves

yup. BTW other HOFers who donned the halo incl. Don Sutton, Dave Winfield, Eddie Murray, Frank Robinson & of course, The Ryan Express.

Don't bust my balls if I miss any of your Dodger questions. If you do, I'll have to bust your balls for saying Don Baylor is a HOFer.:)

Chill out dude, I just got my computer back this evening. Here goes.

1. As I understand, a dodger was a Brooklynite who when crossing the street had to DODGE the trolley cars so as not to get run over...hence the name Brooklyn Dodger.

2. I know he was traded to the Giants, but w/o looking it up I couldn't tell you who for. Did the trade get nullified after he retired?

3. Rick Monday (former #1 draft pick by the Oakland Athletics)

4. Mickey Owen in the 1940s, I want to say 1941

5. Mike Davis

6. Two. The LA Coliseum & the current Dodger Stadium.

Keep in mind I didn't punk out and resort to Google or Wikipedia. That's why I didn't participate in the trivia game...anyone can look the stuff up & then it's just luck of the draw. But what else can you do?

Which California Angels' career was tragically cut short when he was murdered in the offseason?

.

Dude, did you forget this one? Here's a couple of hints that will give it away:

He was murdered in the late 70s (1978, if memory serves)

He had just been acquired via trade from the Minnesota Twins.

This time of year I'm full blown baseball mode. Let's Go Met's !!!

Ever read the book "The Worst Team Money Could Buy"? It chronicled the spending spree the Mets went on while compiling their 1992 team. Pretty good read.

I won't claim to know all the Dodger trivia, but I think I can hold my own. Bring on some more! Here's one for you since you asked.

What was the name of the fmr Dodger who is known as the first MLB player to die of AIDS?
If you answer it correctly, you should then be able to tell me what he is known for allegedly inventing.

It should have been the pitcher who was one strike away from going to the '85 world series, and blew it.

You mean '86 brutha! Caught your Reds today on WGN. Lohse(?) was unhittable. Of course, playing in Wrigley in mid-April can make it tough on any hitter! BRRRRRRR

Here's a tough one onenybrother: which series of recent books used former NY Mets names as supporting characters throughout? You could tell one of the 2 authors was an old Mets fans, b/c these players were from the early Mets teams from the '60s (like Jesse Gonder). I have yet to hear anyone point this out & they were multi-million selling books that had ea. one spending time as the best selling book in America.
