What do you all like to do when we are not discussing all things ND?? I like to play drums, check me out - You know its me, a couple times you can see my shirt sleeve. I'm wearing 2006 version of 'The Shirt' - the one with the helmet and TRADITION across the chest.

got those heads worked in a bit eh?...lol

Yep, you hit on something I am currently working to eradicate from my playing - hitting the drumhead hard. I use Remo coated Ambassadors drumheads, so they are thin to begin with. You dont need to bash the head, to get the response you want

I would love to quit my IT job, and make my living playing my drums.....Only one thing really keeps me from doing it, a large dose of reality - ROFL.

I cant pay my mortgage from playing the drums. If I could, i'd quit my job in a second.

I use a 22" pinstripe on my bass drum, CS coated reverse dot for my snare, coated ambassadars for toms, ebony series for all reso-side heads.

I'm very much into ww2 in terms of overall knowledge, I really find it quite captivating/fascinating. its a topic I cant seem to get enough of. I really believe they were the 'greatest generation', and I really believe that generation 'saved the world.'

haha after my knuckles were bleeding....

When I started playing drums, I wanted to be a rock star, and hence the bashing commenced. Now, Joe Morello has truly inspired me to change almost all I thought I knew about drumming, from my approach, my goals, my technique, you name it. Its all changed since I saw a video of Joe Morello, about 75 years old, playing drums. Something clicked in me, and I thought, "here is an 80 year old man, who is better than I could ever be" I thought this is a guy who is doing it all right, and I immediately thought I have been doing it all wrong. I took the Yoda approach, and decided to 'unlearn what I have learned'. I'm making a transition away from rock towards jazz and big band music. I'm now actively changing my grip (after20years) from matched grip to traditional grip, all because of Joe Morello.

My goal is to be this good, when I am this old. I figure I have about 45years to get that good, lol.

I couldnt embed the video...sorry.

Along with some others above, I am an amateur WWII history buff. I usually focus on the ETO.

I also draw a lot and I collect vintage tattoo machines.

lol. I collect dust. All types. Second hand cigarette smoke is cool too.

But personally, I only use one hand when I smoke, because second hand smoke kills.

OK. Back to the topic.
