Guys let's be serious... if he's the #1 QB in the country according to a recruiting service like Scout then he can play... this is all quite foolish.

We can't predict who will win the job this year. Or the year after that. Or who will transfer. I'd personally LOVE to have Kiel and wrap up QB recruiting for the year. It would also make it easier for us to recruit top WRs saying "look, you're going to get to play with the #1 QB of your year."

I'm on the agree with your post bandwagon Bra.

Getting the top QB would be a great boost for the recruiting class....not just for WR...but for positions on both sides of the ball....Having Tee committed is helpful too. If the boys win we'll have no problem getting whoever we want.

I'd be cool with either Kiel and/or Maty Mauk. But for me, give me Maty Mauk (if he wants to come) and call it a day, and I'm completely fine with it. Mauk's the type of kid who will sit a couple of years and then come in and light a fire under a team and just be a winner. Watch him play (forget the comp and the crazy numbers) - he'll do whatever it takes to move the chains. Throw deep, throw short, scramble, put his head down and truck someone - whatever it takes. I LOVE that kid. He might not be as highly rated, but neither was Colt McCoy and he turned out to be OK, and that's who Mauk reminds me of a little bit. You know, those Charlie Sheen types that are just 'winners', you know what I'm saying?

But yeah, Kiel can play too, no doubt. Nice to have 2 very QB's very interested in ND...

Colt McCoy is the right comparison. I feel the same way 100%.

On another note, I remember hearing that the 2012 Qb class wasn't very deep in talent anyways. So, I think you only take 1 this year and 1 every year from now on...

Kelly had a quote which said exactly: "you have to take a quarterback every year". My feeling was that this was in the context of the first year being an emergency anomaly, and the emphasis for a normal year would be the "a" [singular].
