That's a good point and something none of us had considered.

J. Smith will need to approach Devonta Smith in numbers if he's going to win, since that's the only WR to win it in 35+ years. Which means he'll need his QB to play a lot better. Jeremiah had 15 TDs last year which is great but D Smith had 23 in his Heisman winning year and he'll need some help from the QBs in the field.

Notre Dame lost its best offensive production from last season (Love and Price), no?

Who is returning? Faison and Greathouse - who I haven't seen or heard of since the Playoffs. I have no idea what Quincy Porter will be as he was banged up most of the year, but Graham was losing snaps to a walk on the latter part of the season. If it didn’t click for him under Brian Hartline’s coaching...

Also, you simply can't ignore the schedule. Other than Miami, it's not drawing the eyeballs. If he puts up monster stats, frankly he's supposed to.

We had to pay multi six figures to outbid your team for both transfers. Clearly your staff doesn’t agree with your assessment of Porter and Graham. I don’t particularly care OSU didn’t play Graham at the very very end of the season when they knew he was likely headed to the portal already. Nobody in the world honestly believes he ceded meaningless snaps due to talent.

Valid questions but none of us, you included; are able to accurately predict the future. So we won’t know what the run & pass game looks like until they play a game. Similarly, we won’t know how strong a schedule is until games are actually played. The rest is mental masturbation unless you’re an SEC cuck who states w/ authority that their schedule is the strongest despite not playing one down yet in the 2026 season.

You didn't watch your team a lot last year obviously. Ohio St was objectively worse offensively last year with Hartline more involved with the play calling. He was saved by having two first round talents at wide receiver. It was time for him to go and do his own thing. And if Carr played for Ohio St they'd be a lot better

Combination of solid run game and dominant defense could shorten the field and vulture TDs from Carr. Most high profile player on the best team if we go undefeated will be hard to beat though.

Fashion the "run" game to be 25% shovel passes to stack up half a dozen TDs and 500 passing yards over the course of the season would be hilarious. ND needs to play these types of games after last season.

They’ve had 10 catches and less than 150 yards, collectively. We were bringing in Henry and Guiliford, who I’m most excited about. THE was never going to get into a bidding war for backups—especially for one loafing it

By all reports, including from the OSU site, they tried to pay to some level to get them to stay, especially Graham.
