If we had only one scholly left this cycle who would you want more? This for me is a very tough question and would like 2 hear some of my fellow Irish thoughts. I think Deion Walker is a bit more explosive and can stretch the field but on the other hand, I think Gerell is much more versatile and could be a great WR, Safety, and or PR/KR. Either one, I would gladly take. I know a lot of u might disagree, but I'd take Robinson. My thinkin is not necessarily on WR talent alone, its that Gerell is so versatile and brings a lot more options for our program imo. Don't get me wrong, I'd love Walker 2 and hopefully we can get both but its always nice 2 have an athlete willing and ready 2 step in and contribute at a variety of positions. Which is what we lack in this class.

Yea Deion imo is the more pure WR. Robinson I would compare 2 Tate as in he needs at least a year 2 get accustomed 2 the position...If CW wants an early impact, I'd go with Walker 2 complement Floyd and Kamara. If we want a project who could be great at a variety of positions, I'd take Robinson.

Both - we do have a ton of wide receivers on the roster, but both of their skills are things we need (versatility and tall + fast pure WR).

I think I'd rather have Deion just because of that little extra verticle threat he provides, but I think Gerell is more likely at this point, but that's probably moot since I think ND will get both.

Agreed. Both would be nice big targets for us. Which IMO CW prefers. What he did with Jeff and Mo was scary.

U really think we get Walker Gip? I know we are in good position but PSU is kinda scaring me. At the same time, I hope Walker realized Joe Pa is not gonna be there for his duration there...I hope he sees that they totally wasted a former #1 recruits talent.

Yep, I think ND is leading and while PSU is still lurking here I think ND will land him in the end. I also would be suprised to see USC try and get back into the picture. They just had the rug pulled out from under them with Carl Moore, and in addition to that Chris Polk just recently decommited from them and joined Ty at UW.

Nice. If we finish we these 2, we will def have the #1 class in the nation!

Like IK1023 and C2K said, Robinson can play WR. He could also play SS or FS. I hope we get both, i just prefer Deion for WR.

If I'm the HC at N.D. I kick one of the mods at Envy off the team so I can get them both. But since I'm just a poster I think Deoin .

I would like Deion just because of the speed factor. I really think our only miss on this class is a true speedster. Deion is not blazing fast, but he has good wheels and we need that.

Irishknight,
Remember when you are saying the can play D, the position he would play is safety. With the commits and who we currently have on the roster, we will have a total log jam at safety. We need the speed on O. We will have more than enough bodies at DB.

I'm diggin' Deion, but GRob is pretty high on my Christmas wish list, too.

---This is true, he just gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling that cannot be ignored.

I'd say Gerell, I like his height and size, not to mention he's very ellusive. I like Walker also, but his speed doesn't jump out at me on film, i just hear about it. That said, he's a very polished receiver, and would see the field before Gerell.

I think GRob is the better prospect. More fluid and elusive in the open field. I don't thing he will ever play defense though. Too stacked at safety.

I would say at this point in our recruiting, we have athletes here, so the versatility is less valuable. We have guys who can return kicks pretty decently, a few in fact, and we got guys who can play defense as their specialty. It's not that versatile guys aren't great, but at this point, if i HAD to choose one, I'd pick the guy who's stronger at one position over a guy who's a pseudo "jack of trades and a master of none." Perhaps oversimplifying a little bit, but we NEED good receivers, badly, and none too soon, while the other factors seem less pressing to me.

So the short answer I guess is Deion.

Remember recruits read the forums, so I say both (I'm greedy)! Also injury does happen. I believe we stay at #1. Charlie injects the nasty virus into the existing roster and inturn the 2008 recruits become infect with nasty! Look out 2009!

Deion in a land slide. Gerell is good don't get me wrong, but he was completely shut down a couple of times this year. That shouldn't happen to a premier high school athlete playing QB. The reason that deion is not a 5* is because he played WR on a team that wasn't able to get him as many touches as he should have gotten.
