If NBC wants better ratings for Notre Dame and for its Big Ten games, perhaps they should lean on the Big Ten to schedule more games against Notre Dame, especially after Oct. 1.
I said this in either the CFP or Bevacqua thread (can't remember which). ESPN and the CFP act like the Big10 is the SECs little brother. The narrative they push at every opportunity (similar to the ND narratives they have pushed the past few weeks) is that the Big10 is top heavy (I.e., a few great teams, but then a steep dropoff). It allows them to denigrate the results of teams like Southern Cal, U of I, Iowa, and yes, Michigan, so when they beat up on each other it becomes "well, those teams aren't that good, and that's why they aren't able to separate themselves from the middle of the pack in the conference."

Compare that to how they talk about the logjam of good but not great teams in the SEC "oh, well you can't expect to run that gauntlet." Then why can UGA do it? Why was Bama able to do it all those years? Why was LSU able to do it? Great teams are great teams, and they beat good teams. That's how. Good teams can beat other good teams on a given day. The SEC is just as top heavy, but their middle of the pack gets the benefit of the doubt that no other conference gets, including the Big 10. Yet you'll never hear anything approaching that from ESPN or the walking talking penis with Dumbo ears.

ND's best path right now is to point these things out to the Big 10 and their mutual partner NBC and find common ground to start competing narratives going forward. Letting ESPN set the only narrative as the baseline is damaging to them all, and the only way to fight back on it is to do so with a united front.

“Here comes Saturday night 🎵 Here comes Saturday night 🎵 “

14 USC/UCLA 2.4
13 Neb/PSU 3.10
12 UCLA/OSU 3.6
10 USC/Neb 2.2
9 Michigan/MSU 3.6
7 Michigan/USC ??? (had to be mistake)
6 Minnesota/ OSU 3.7
4 IU/Illinois 2.2

That is what the Big Ten Saturday night games did outside of a big number over 8 for PSU/Oregon. USC and A&M games throttled everything above and Navy/ND even did a 3.4 in comparison.

It would probably help at least a bit if NBC had games on all day.
If they put an AAC game on at 11:30, ND or B1G at 3:30, then ND or B1G at 7:30/8:00 would be something NBC should look into. Heck, put on a Patriot League FCS game on each mid day.

good competitive games will draw more viewers then blowouts
that is reality
problem is that college football is changing so fast that schedules that are mostly arranged several years earlier can not take into account the up and down of teams
Pedo U was a real contender last year and is trash this year
Vanderbilt just a few years ago was a pathetic joke

You're correct. I'm just saying what also helps is the carry over draw. People leaving the channel on because one game just ended, and another begins.

Nolan Ziegler playing for Ferris State in the D2 national championship this weekend. He's had a decent but not earth shattering season starting at LB for the Bulldogs

SIAP, but Brice was told that the 2026 schedule will look like this:

9/6: Wisconsin (At Lambeau Field)
9/12: Rice
9/19: Michigan State
9/26: At Purdue
10/3: At UNC
10/10: SMU
10/17: Stanford
10/31: Navy (At Gillette Stadium)
11/7: Miami
11/21: BC

He didn't mention the dates for Syracuse and USC, but I assume the bye will be on 10/24, they will be at Syracuse on 11/14, and they'll play USC on 11/28.

100% ABC and ESPN get a ratings bump for just being on every tv in every sports bar in America by default. NBC is for sure 5th behind Fox and CBS.

First offseason following CFB for some of you?

Losing coaches (even little known staffers) to promotions is a sign of a flourishing program. Look how much turnover Saban had every single year at Alabama. Freeman has to get the replacements right, but that's what he gets paid for.

it is just wrong not to have USC on the schedule

we have no excuse not to go unbeaten

I mean we should go into the Miami game undefeated with an average margin of victory of 30 with that start to the year. We’ll also have KVA back down the stretch.
