Take like 4 kickers just incase
However many open spots we have remaining below the 105 limit, roster that many soccer players as walk-ons.Take like 4 kickers just incase
Or, perhaps, and hear me out...at WR?????Williams will be RB1 and Will Black will start somewhere on the OL
Or kickerOr, perhaps, and hear me out...at WR?????
Enough of the stupid ass jokesOr, perhaps, and hear me out...at WR?????
You know how we make sure there is a true WR1 out there? You tamper and make a Godfather offer. Same thing with DTSince we're apparently in the off-season, for fuck's sake, I thought I'd repost this. Still lots to figure out, and perhaps the NIL supports that are lining up will change some of this, but here's an initial shot at the 2026 depth chart.
2026 ND Depth Chart:
OFFENSE
QB - 1. Carr
2. Transfer Backup (As much as I wish Kenny would stay, he should go get paid at another P4 location)
3-5 - Hebert, Grubbs, Jarrard if he reclassifies.
RB - 1. Transfer Stud
2. Williams (if he stays, though I'm not sure he would if he isn't promised RB1)
3. James Jr.
4. Young
5. Osborne
6. Walton
WR - X - 1. Transfer WR1 (Fields level or better)

3. Prescod
LG - 1. Schrauth (Hoping they can NIL him)
2. Terek
C - 1. Craig
2. Otting
3. Herron
RG - 1. Jagusah (though I have my doubts he can stay healthy)
2. Absher
RT - 1. Lambert (I think Wagner hits the portal)
2. Augustine
TE - 1. Flanagan
2. Flanigan

PORTAL NEEDS
1 - Backup QB - this seems like a challenge, but is there a vet that wants to be part of Championship program before moving on?
1 - RB - I don’t think our starting RB is on the current roster, we go find a stud.
1 - WR1 - If there’s a true WR1 out there to compliment our stable of quality WRs, great
2 - DT - I think we need a stud DT and a front line DT equivalent to Dawson
1 - NB - Not sure this is solved yet with Smith moving on.
1 - Place kicker that can stay healthy
I agree with both of those.Williams will be RB1 and Will Black will start somewhere on the OL
I agree with both of those.
Speaking of Banned Users, when do you turn out the lights?Williams will be RB1 and Will Black will start somewhere on the OL
Now. The season is over. This is what was agreed on. Two months.Speaking of Banned Users, when do you turn out the lights?
I would definitely expect there to have been cameras around. They went through the playoffs last year. Was the filming of that over before yesterday? footage of them being shown during the announcement.....i'm not sure if i can even watch it.
I think the two big spends will be WR1 and DT. I’d even consider bringing in a DE to play. We lose Bothelo, JT. Burgess should be ready to play and help. I expect some of the young guys to get reps. RB1 Williams is fine. I think both Freshman can play as well. I think our offense goes to more passing next year va running at least that’s me.My projections:
QB: Carr. Duh. Need a backup big
RB: Going to say Williams and then a 1B transfer. We need to invest $ elsewhere. No need for high end.
TE: James Flanigan...Ian will play. Would fight like hell to get Eli anothe year
X: Transfer tbd, Micah will play
Field: Faison...Burress and KK will play
Slot: Rotation of Greathouse and Faison
LT: Black. It is time to have a first round OT back
LG: Knapp
C: Craig...thought about Knapp here
RG: Lambert or Jagusah
RT: Jagusah or Lambert...Wagner has been good and he is going to go pro or won't fit the budget.
DE: Traore. Duh
DT: Hughes. I think he will pop. Onye?
DT: Transfer
DE: Burnham. However, hope it is Young who leaves no doubt
Mike: Bowen
Will: KVA...Ausberry
CB: Moore
CB: Gray...but he better be ready to compete
Nickel: Golden, O'Brien or Pouncey.
Safety: Shuler
Safety: Tae
Big concerns:
- X WR. We need an alpha
- DT. Sneaky okay if our guys develop. But we need to go for blood and destroy everyone
- TE room has high potential. But proven talent would be nice
- OL. Love the bodies. How will it be shuffled?
- Nickel: Just concerns me we have not developed a guy here.
I would like a rotational DE type. One of the incoming freshman must hit tooI think the two big spends will be WR1 and DT. I’d even consider bringing in a DE to play. We lose Bothelo, JT. Burgess should be ready to play and help. I expect some of the young guys to get reps. RB1 Williams is fine. I think both Freshman can play as well. From Google AI, have no idea if it's accurate:The value Notre Dame places on being Independent
Can someone explain what Sampson is saying here from an older article about ND's independence?
"And once the story drills that deep, to Rev. Edward Sorin founding Notre Dame in 1842, to anti-Catholic sentiments of the early 20th century, to Rev. Theodore Hesburgh’s backing the civil rights movement and later bucking the Vatican, Notre Dame’s independent spirit starts to show."
Thanks! From Google AI, have no idea if it's accurate:
Key Instances of Standing Up to the Vatican:
- Land O'Lakes Statement (1967): Hesburgh led a conference of Catholic university leaders who issued this pivotal document, asserting that "To perform its teaching and research functions effectively the Catholic university must have a true autonomy and academic freedom in the face of authority of whatever kind, lay or clerical, external to the academic community itself".
- Academic Freedom: He resisted attempts at censorship from Rome and advocated for intellectual independence, viewing it as essential for Catholic universities to serve the Church effectively.
- Lay Governance: He spearheaded the move to establish a lay-led Board of Trustees for Notre Dame, shifting governance from clerical authority to include lay leaders, while maintaining the university's Catholic identity.
- Challenging Church Officials: His assertive leadership style and advocacy for autonomy put him at odds with some Church officials, though he maintained close relationships with others, like Pope Paul VI, who even called Notre Dame "my favorite Catholic university".
Random, but did we ever get a recovery timeline for KVA? Dorka posted a video of him at the Stanford game where he walking around without crutches so I thought there might be some ground for optimism.
They should’ve waited to release this imoEpisode 1 of Here Come the Irish is available
I would not consider any of this “bucking the Vatican” though. ND walked back the Land O Lakes statement after it was condemned. From Google AI, have no idea if it's accurate:
