I mean come on, we (ND Fans) are happy with a project tackle. I amount of riches this team already has, to add a class like this is unfair.

Is this the greatest class of all time?

The class is beyond loaded, no doubt. So many studs. But they are already full at 25, and they STILL are in play with greats like Dillon Baxter and Deitrich Riley. How in the world are they all going to fit, if a few more commit like they are expecting?

And how are these recruits going to feel when Meyer leaved them? The dude has health issues, and those don't just magically disappear because your players had a great practice. He's SCUM, he'll do and say anything to get a recruit regardless of ethics and he'll get his in the end.

They're losing a lot next year and they won't be a title contender IMO. But with a class like this, they'll be really good for years to come...assuming their coach stays, which I highly, highly doubt...

Not to sound like an asshole, but who cares? I'm a ND fan, I only care about what the Fighting Irish recruiting class looks like.

I'd rather recruit with class and integrity than say whatever the hell I have to get kids to come to my school.

If we are going to compete for the national title in the next 4 years we should care because if they even have a decent coach after Urban they will be in the mix for a long time! I have a hard time remembering a class this loaded from top to bottom. I dislike Urban's tactics but the dude can flat out recruit!!! I have no idea how he is doing it with his health issues but he is finding a way!

Guys, the reality of this is that 5 Star recruits rarely want to be challenged in the classroom.......they have people in their ear telling them their future is in the NFL......college is just a place they go until they can go to the NFL. You can't expect every 17-18 year old kid to see the forest from the trees.....and you can't expect them to want to be challenged in the classroom.....some of them just want to skate by in class and play football.......and unfortunately, that is not ND...

It takes a different kind of kid to go to ND, we pull from a smaller pool than the Florida's and the USC's........it's just the way it is.....

The sad part is that percentage of kids coming out high school and going to the pros is a very low. That's the problem these kids don't see.

Here is something else to think about. You think all these recruits don't read the messageboards or at least have people thell them what is being said on the internet? While Florida steals a couple every year from other schools (us in particular), they always lose a couple too. Heck, they steal from us, and apparently we take our pick from Stanford.

Also, another thing to consider is academically qualifying. Florida has had numerous five-star and high-ranking four-stars not qualify for the school when their final grades come in and then go to a juco or a mid-major.

Another fact that helps me ignore what Florida does is they don't recruit what I would call citizens of humanity, and plenty of their players never see the field because they are doing 2-5 in county. I'm not worried about Florida. The only time we would have to worry about them is if we run the table and make a BCS championship, so let the SEC deal with Urban's boys and let's focus on beating the "Florida" of our world - USC!!!!

This is from an Irish NBC article by Keith Arnold:

As Florida continues to reel in high-profile recruits, even with its head coach maybe/possibly stepping away from his job, you start to wonder how Urban Meyer does it. And then you read articles like this, and stop wondering. It's no wonder Sharrif Floyd picked the Gators.

"Sharrif was really confused and put a call into Coach Meyer. When they spoke Coach Meyer told him that he had a 'dream' the night before, and that Coach Meyer saw himself on the sideline coaching Sharrif. Told him that is was a "message from God that I should come back and coach, as I guess if it's my time to die, I'd rather die on the sidelines coaching you than anywhere else in the world.

"Sharrif talked to us the next day and said Ohio State is great and all, but Coach Meyer said he would DIE for me. That's pretty intense."

I really wonder how Urban Meyer has kept his reputation intact after he pulled that 180 a few weeks ago, but it's clear his charms are still working.

i almost cant believe that. how exactly does a kid believe that line of crap? honestly you have to be really really stupid or never had anyone care about you in order to believe some obvious bullshit like that.

According to ESPN's Recruiting Section, Florida isn't offering 5-star DB Demar Dorsey anymore. Any idea why?

Florida drops five-star defensive back Demar Dorsey off pledge list

"ESPNU 150 safety Demar Dorsey of Boyd Anderson (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) is no longer being sought by the Gators and no longer considered a commitment.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Dorsey, considered the No. 2 safety prospect in the Class of 2010, has long been pledged to the Gators, but still looking at other programs.

He has recently expressed interest in Florida State, Southern California, Michigan and Tennessee.

Dorsey visited the Seminoles, Wolverines and Vols, and has scheduled an official visit with the Trojans. He was interested in USC under Pete Carroll and recruited by the current staff when it was at Tennessee. "

That's refreshing. I would have thought that Meyer's dreams would consist of leather clad midgets riding a merry-go-round while a naked John Stamos fed grapes to him as he laid pool side while being fanned by Tebow who is dressed like Tarzan and holding a palm leaf.

The reason for Florida dropping its offer to a 5 star must be a whopper. Given all of the arrests of Florida players under Meyer, it can't be a character issue. None of that stuff deters Urban.

Might be on paper one of the greatest classes, cant argue that, will argue that not one freaking recruiting rating will win a football game. Maybe Notre Dames 2/3's will get a chance to try them on for size. Let the games begin.

We will see how many transfer after the first 2 seasons when the PT/Depth Chart isn't what their ego's expected as 18 year olds.

Florida's recruiting class

They won't be the greatest ever until they pay their dues and prove it on the
field. And those are two enormous "until's" !!

Bad-mouthing Urban Meyer is a colossal waste of time. ND coaches and players
should outwork and outfight the Gators !! Didn't OLE MISS do it last September ??

Insulting Meyer and Pete Carroll isn't the Notre Dame way ! Knute and Frank L.
would turn over in their graves if they read some of the comments we see here !!

Have the "recruiting experts and services" really evaluated who the players
with potential are and who will actually make an impact ? And are we taking them
too seriously ?

Sure some exceptional kids stand out. Shoot, even my Great Aunt Hattie Muldoon
could predict that Seantrel Henderson and Michael Dyer will be impact players.

But remember what Joe Paterno and Bo Schembechler said a few years back
about these so-called "experts" ! Joe said they often exaggerated a prospect's
abilities. And Bo quipped: "If I don't know more about evaluating prospects than
those guys, I'll eat my hat and hang up my cleats" -- or words to that effect.

Every recruiting cycle we see talented and experienced coaches bring in players
the journalists and gurus have overlooked. Just check the record !!
