The refs were horrible & the defense at the end of the game just seemed to give up...it's not all Weis but ultimately it lands on his shoulders.

shooting ourselves in the foot. Lack of discipline cost us today. Kickoff return man was out of his lane, missed tackle. an abundance of penalties at critical situations. Throwing the ball instead of making Michigan use their TO's. DROPS!!! This team has a great ceiling, but it showed today that it is still not the mature, BCS quality football team we all hoped. 2006 all over again. Our defensive front is getting exposed and will continue to be exposed as the season rolls on. 9-3 and a gator bowl birth is my prediction after two weeks of the season.

GO IRISH!!! BEAT SPARTANS!!!

Officialls had way too much to do with the outcome of this game. Crimiinal. They should be shot. ND fell apart and looked like a fucking freshman squad.

Agreed!! on the officials today. That 2 and 10 fade to close it out to Tate should have been pass interference. DB faceguarded and tackled Tate before the ball even got there. Criminal Big Ten officiating.

Well, the players didn't do much to help their cause, but Charlie flat out called a horrible game. He mishandled the last 5 minutes of that game big time!!

Bad play calling?

All these posters on this board complain about how Charlie wants to just sit on a lead. He finally decides to go for a win and go deep to Tate after we have been burning their secondary all game and this is when you decide to be conservative. All of you complaining need to shut the fuck up because if we would have went 3 and out on 3 consecutive running plays you would still be bitching. Not to mention Allen wasnt in the game on the second down and where the fuck was Shaqs head on 3rd down. Weis called a great game. We got beat beacuse of penalties and a costly turnover. The difference in this game was that Michigan took advantage of every opportunity given to them and Our defense was not capable of stopping Forcier. Close this thread and shut your mouths because the people talking shit dont know shit.

I'm not right, right now. This was attroc- to -the- damn- ous. After the two passes were thrown I knew we lost the game. Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid. Nobody in our secondary could stop a freakin slant. Are you kidding me? Short rinky dink crap and nobody can't bump and run? Somethin?

Damn.

Just damn...

Urban Myth and Brian Kelly are not going to come to Notre Dame. NO ONE probably wants to come to Notre Dame, the expectations are to high. I have always supported Weis and I don't know how much I can keep supporting him. ND needs W's and the pace needs to pick up next week.

Second down, two minutes left, Michigan with two timeouts, Armando Allen running at will. 25 yard fly pattern. Jump ball. Incomplete. No Michigan timeout. No time ran off the clock.

I can't wait to see him explain this one away tomorrow.

I absolutely could not agree more. There are many this board who will never be happy. I was thrilled with the offense today. Sure hindsight is 20/20. But if you would have told me we would put 34 on the board i would say we would win by 2 td's. Our defense got gashed, and that is not on Weis, it is on Tenuta. In the end Weis might lose his job over it, but he cannot be blamed for it. Tenuta calls the plays.

This one hurts, really bad. But it is only game 2. This is a very good team. Michigan is further along than alot of people on here think. By the end of the year I bet this wont be a bad loss.

I am going to go cry now. But this one aint on CW fellas.

Armando Allen hurt on the sideline. Jonas Gray already fumbled once. Hughes only ran 1 time the whole game, tough situation to put him in. And our WR's burnt their DB's all game. Thats how you explain it, and it was the right thing to do.

did you even watch the game? Armando Allen was hurt after the run for the first down play hence why Huges was in the game on the first down play. We have some of the best WR's and one of the better Qb's in the game. Trying to put the game on the shoulders of slow ass #33 would have been the wrong call. Throwing deep should have happened every play on the last drive. You really wanted our defence to try and win the game?

Easy. He was playing to win the game and Armando was taken out for an injury after his first down run. Why do you think Hughes was in there. Weis called a great game. We got beat plain and simple.

No, I don't care if you call a QB sprint and have Clausen slide down before he gets hit--you run the ball, keep it in bounds and force Michigan to call a timeout or let the clock run. Either way they scored with 11 seconds left. One run and one less Michigan timeout and that game is different.

You can't, on any planet, explain that away. And anybody who knows a damn thing about football is going to say the same thing. This is where we seperate the fantasy land Charlie Weis apologists from the realists with a modicum of football knowledge.

Seriously, no offense....but come on!

Weis called a good game. I actually think our defensive play calling hurt us a little to be honest. Would have liked to see a little more outside pressure in the second half.

Either of those passes are complete, weis is a genius. Got a no call on the first, and a true freshman mistake on the second on not turning looking for the ball to be there. Weis called a good game. The refs on the other hand, did not.

Charlie gets a pass for me this weeek, and i called for his head last year.

Well, in my opinion, I think with a lead and two minutes on the clock you can do much more to make things harder on a freshman QB. I don't care if we send Hughes up the middle three times and have to punt, but atleast we force the hand of Michigan and most likely make them burn their last two timeouts. I think I would much rather punt the ball away and force a freshman QB to drive the field without any timeouts. It limits their play calling and forces Michigan to think ahead for that field goal rather than having the comfort of calling a timeout to set things up.

Our o-line was doing a pretty good job of opening up some holes there late in the game. Keeping the clock moving and making Michigan beat our offense is a much more desirable scenerio than throwing a low percentage deep ball and leaving things up to our shotty defense. And if Charlie must, you could even throw in a screen if they load up the box, atleast that is a high percentage play.

So you agree with throwing the ball down field when a slant would have gotten us the first down. You are being ignorant if you think he called it right on that last series. Yes, we did make a ton of mistakes today that also cost us the game. Who are you to tell anyone to shut the fuck up though. Weis did fuck up on that series and reguardless of the incredible game he called, WHEN IT MATTERED, he didn't step up and lead these kids that played their hearts out. Yes, I would have bitched about the calls if he ran it 3 times for no gain, because that would have been as dumb as throwing the bomb. The short pass was there all day and it was there on the last series and Charlie blew it and was out coached by Rich.

I really hope we don't end up firing weis because of this loss. What would that do except kill team morale? He is recruiting well, he's being agressive, what more could you ask? Too many mistakes from the players and things just didn't go our way on the field today. The ref's blew this one imo. Not to take away anything from Michigan.
