Fleck will never be the coach at Notre Dame. I don't know much, but I can promise you that..

This is actually how miserable our fan base is.

They play like shit and are 6-2 and everyone wants everyone fired. You'd think that this team is loaded full of 5 star talent.

Whoever would replace Kelly better be a world class recruiter...we haven't had the studs to play with the big boys since Holtz. Whoever will also need to be able to bring on top-notch (and retain them) assistants...haven't had that since Holtz either. I hate that the University is so sure that the loyal fan base will always be there and that they are totally content with the results. Pisses me off.

No. This is the fanbase being tired of the same old BS. 10-2 with losses to the only 2 teams with a heartbeat on your schedule and almost losing to other overmatched teams in year whatever with Kelly is not acceptable.

I have an idea. Lets wait until a good young coach blows up and gets his shot at another program before we make a move! Oh wait, he's already somewhere else...

What kind of offense does he run?

The same purgatory offense that we have been watching under BKelly. Take what the defense gives you pass-centric approach that inevitably leads to mediocrity. Why would we want the understudy when we have the dean of that approach?

Coach Kelly is not going to be fired nor should he be.. Please stop with all the chatter. I actually think he could be a great HC with the right OC. Other than Lou's NC he has performed at a higher level if you throw out the BS vacated games

Anyone outside of Saban and possibly UM would not do any better than CBK at Notre Dame....and I actually think they would have a HUGE learning curve to coach with the restrictions at ND.

That said...our offense is horrible. Grab an ELITE OC and let Kelly do his thing.

We start the season expecting 8-4 or 9-3. Lose to scUM for our second loss and we want to fire the entire coaching staff and the administration. Tough crowd.

Agree.... Can't rap my head around why people want BK fired. Oc I can understand, QB coach...yep. ST...yep.

I'm sure some will pile on and hate this statement, but I think BK is one of the top 5 coaches in CFB.

I think most people outside of Notre Dame's fan base agree. Top 10 for sure.

Why do we have the OC we have? The head coach is responsible for all of these decisions.

Sometimes I wonder why ND doesnt get the great OCs is because the great OCs come with great egos. Example Chuckles Weis. An OC at ND has to bow to BKs "superior" knowledge and gameplan or he doesnt play in the sandbox. Hence, you notice no matter how CRAPPY the O playcalling is, BK never talks about it in press conferences. Because it has his hand all over it. The OCs at ND just sit back and lapdog BK.

Great OCs would not bow to BK. Hence no great OC at ND.

Not picking on you, but why do you feel this way? I've asked this question several times recently and no one has replied and given a specific reason or shared some "things they've heard".

For all we know TR has been doing a good job. Son of a coach, max'd out his abilities, could drive the team in crunch time, good field awareness.

But, remember, back in 2011 he had a noodle arm. He must be a lousy coach.

I think it's safe to say that nobody really knows where the "issue" stems from at this point Book>Rees>Long>BK. I'd almost bet my home that BK isn't going anywhere, so the best we can hope for is that he shakes things up in an effort to resuscitate the offense i.e. firing Long. Hell, who knows though, it could simply be that Book has regressed so badly that it makes Rees/Long/BK look bad, and people are scrambling to find an answer so it's "Fire everyone!" In typical ND fandom fashion.
