"I'm a morning person just in general uh so so I typically wake up early and get my work done at night not that I'm no good but I'm definately better in the morning than I am at the late night."

"If the plan didn't work there really was not much in the relief department to do during the course of the game."

I like the guy and the energy he brings but he loses me many times in his interviews. I've noticed these types of answers since fall camp. I want someone to ask him if he enjoys apples just to see how complex his reply is.

I am guessing the second one is from the NAVY game?

and he is correct, there really are no adjustments on the fly for the option offense, you try to be good at 2 or three things....and if they fail you go down with the ship!

Yeah, that's really the truth. If what you practiced for a week isn't working against exactly what you designed it for... it's not like you can throw it out or make big adjustments.

Its not that he was incorrect but its the way he answers. During the fall camp interviews I kept wondering why he wouldn't just give short and direct answers to some simple questions. They always seem to be these drawn out complicated answers instead. I know he's an intelligent guy but I sometimes chuckle at his delivery.

part of me says give the guy a pass as its all new, and wholesale change mid game would be asking alot on top of everything else going on in a new D...

But if I'm the coach of any of the 4 teams coming up...I'm throwing this guy a major curve ball...

..what do you think Kyle Whitingham at Utah is thinking...Army is probably right now putting in Navy's unbalanced veer look or whatever, Tulsa is probably putting in some spin on Western Michigan's wierd *** unbalanced look...SC who knows what we'll see

so I hope we figure out how to deal with wholesale change, and can make adjustments out of our base D, and provide some specific coaching based on whats going on in-game...because based on the Navy performance and Diaco's statements...we are going to see some weird crap...

Because Diaco is a pothead. Where do you think Wonder Duck gets his weed from?

If that's the case than he needs to put it down before he smokes himself retarded right out of his job..

"We had a particular plan...went into the game with the plan and also understood that if the plan didn't work, there really was not much in the relief department to do during the course of the game."

Comments like that are not good for job security.

Some guys aren't good in front of the mike but are great in the natural context---Diaco's probably one of those. The other sort of guy who sounds like that is the guy with the noisy mind---too much going on to create anything "linear" and crisp. Other guys are just orbiting their own planet, like the ex-Texas Tech coach, whose dry mad-cap wit I find confusing but hilarious. But none of these guys compares to listening to a guy from the Intelligence Community "explain" something to you----Prozac here we come! Thank your stars we have someone as "clear" as Diaco. [and give him some slack--he's young--if it was 70-year-old me, I'd deserve it].

"overall you're not gonna stop them, they're gonna move the ball, and you just have to come up with enough stops that then you get the possession change"

Instead of typing mic, he type his name. You got to watch out for this guy, he's very clever. Putting hidden messages in his comments.. I'm on to him..

This interview is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. The very beginning and the very end is a classic. "President of the United States ...conducting brain surgery...street fight."

Thats why its best if only the head coach talks to the media. They know most the time the right stuff to say. I do believe that Diaco is going to have his hands full the rest of the season.

To Irishff's point: right. Even Virginia Tech's D-genius Bud Foster lets Beamer do the talking.
