"Diesease"?

As in a disease people die from?

Last year the American Medical Association classified obesity as a disease. The American Heart Association treats obesity like a disease.

Saw a commercial the other day for a show about athletes who are trying to lose weight. The ex-NFL QB Scott Mitchell is on it, he's huge. Must be those left QBs.

People who are obese (seriously):

Manti Te'o
Eddie Lacy
Tarean Folston

Greg Bryant and Jaylon Smith are close, with BMIs of 29.4 and 29.8. Obesity is a made up term based solely on BMI, a metric that has proven time and time again to have virtually zero correlation with an individual's health.

Obesity: MedlinePlus

Obesity means having too much body fat. It is different from being overweight, which means weighing too much. The weight may come from muscle, bone, fat, and/or body water. Both terms mean that a person's weight is greater than what's considered healthy for his or her height.

Obesity occurs over time when you eat more calories than you use. The balance between calories-in and calories-out differs for each person. Factors that might affect your weight include your genetic makeup, overeating, eating high-fat foods, and not being physically active.

They are not talking about college or pro prime athletes pumping iron, burning 4000 calories, and in a training regimen. Each of the people you cite has low body fat and a great cardiovascular system. None have been diagnosed with CAD, DM, or COPD, among others, nor would I expect them to be at 20-25.

I don't know who "MedlinePlus" is, but the federal government, i.e. the CDC, states "An adult who has a BMI of 30 or higher is considered obese."

If someone has COPD, diagnose them with COPD. My point is that there are a vast number of people for whom weight is just a number and who don't suffer from any of those ailments that are tangentially related to obesity.
