Ejection is a bit much. They should call unsportsmanlike conduct more often though.

BTW is turning into purple Hulk a penalty?

The thing is if you create this rule then you will have refs handing out ejections like Candy. Hell then you would have coaches getting tossed for trying to call time outs. An Example here Jim Harbaugh's bro got flagged for trying to call a time out by replacement refs and got the fans chanting Bulls**t.

By rule, the officials should have called unsportsmanlike conduct on Swinney. They didn’t.

The rule is already there.

Swinney was hardly alone in 2016, the first season in which the NCAA explicitly stated coaches are automatically ejected for two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties in a game. Pockets of coaches kept treating the playing field like their personal sanctuary to act like multi-million-dollar mad men.

Not a single coach got ejected at the FBS or FCS level in 2016, according to the NCAA.

They enforce unsportsmanlike conduct for players why not coaches?

Your example of replacement refs is Bulls**.
