This guy is considered one of the best QB's in the country for the next recruiting class. He's from Chicago, he's 6'4 195 and has 4.4 speed.

He says he's now considering Notre Dame because of Charlie Weis.

Could this Guy be another Vick?

I would prefer the next Peyton Manning or Joe Montana to the next Vick, even if (in college) the dual-threat can get you farther.

Umm, beggers can't be choosers. I think we'd all take 1/2 of Michael Vick over what we've got at the QB position. Keep in mind we're not that far removed from Pat Dillingham making starts for this team.

Last I checked Vick was in the NFC championship game, and Peyton is sitting at home.

I shouldn't compare this guy with Vick because I haven't watched any film on him. But that 4.4 speed is impressive.

Perhaps you'll be happy to know we have a good shot at landing Matt Simms, Phil Simms other son who attends Don Bosco high school (2 years left) in NJ, he's already putting up big numbers. With Cutliffe here, I think we'll see Matt at ND, Matt won't make the mistake his brother Chris did, by not going to Tennesse to be coached by Cutliffe. Plus Weis and Phil Simms are pretty tight.

i would think that a guy with these type of physical attributes will be recruited veeeerrrry heavily..he is going to want to go to a school where he can play immedietely...That means Quinn would need to have an amazing year and go pro next year....right?

Not many major schools are going to offer a QB recruit guaranteed playing time his freshman year. But he could be a starter at ND by his Sophmore season, and if he red shirts he'd have 4 years to be a starter at ND. Thats pretty good for ND's chances.

Thats not really fair, since Peyton lost on the road to the defending SB champ, and Atlanta won at home against an 8-8 Rams team.

Peyton's the man he's great. Needs to do a better job against the Pats though. There's no excuses for Peyton, he has a good RB, and good receivers.

I agree Quinn will not leave early. And starting a freshman just because of his physical attributes is not the best thing to do. Red shirt him and invest the time he will go from a good career as a freshman starter to a great career as a red shirt freshman starter.
Provided he beats out sharpley which I think can have a very great career at ND.
Sharpley is a leader. I would take great leadership, confidence and good physical attributes over somebody that only offers great physical attributes. (not that its the only thing this guy offers, dont know enough about him right now)

This Pats team is on the verge of being one of the greatest teams in NFL history. So yes Peyton needs to do a better job against them, but so does the rest of the NFL. If the Pats play Atlanta in the Super Bowl it will be over by half time. Pitt to me is the only team with a shot to beat them.

You are right there, 49ers made a huge mistake. Just one of many they've made in the past few years.

Let me see, he gave up after one game (though Weis did the same with him), left Cincy due to "academic reasons", and got bounced from the next place for stealing. Meh, whatever. Ancient history, I hope he has grown up and finds his calling.

I also get the impression he blames others for the way things played out instead of taking personal responsibility.

I still talk to Demetrius every now and then...I remember an instance when he came back to see a game and sat in the student section...some of the stuff said to him was absolutely uncalled for, but he took it with a lot of class...I was frankly more heated than he was about it...He always was very reserved and calm when we spoke...Hope he continues to find himself and stay out of trouble
