I do agree with this. The D looks mentally unprepared. The offense has been more productive in spite of the blown opportunities. Let’s hope for adjustments and a big dose of pride.

Honestly this was my last hope that ND could actually compete. So I'll be a fan still. There is nothing for ND. ND will never compete with these teams.

Future look. Win 10 games and go to a NY6 non playoff bowl. That's NDs ceiling.

I don't feel very good about this game. Clemson is going to come in very motivated and play like this is the Superbowl.

The last two games have shown the OL has taken a step back IMO. Patterson was playing at an all-ACC level and losing him at C has shown. The interior running game just hasn't been as consistent.

In 2018, ND's offense couldn't run the ball consistently inside and had WRs who couldn't get separation. A team with athletic CBs capable of playing man coverage and with two stout DTs was going to frustrate ND big time. The last game of the season, USC, heavily suggested it and then Clemson confirmed it.

I'm worried that's going to happen again. The OL is no longer the best in the country, ND will be relying on too many outside runs and Clemson will get more penetration than UNC or Syracuse did. ND cannot "backyard ball" its way to victory against a motivated Clemson team.

I wouldn't be surprised if the line was Clemson -10.5.

Notre Dame needs to be balanced to be successful. Patterson being out is a lot bigger than people have been saying and we. saw. it. coming.

No interior running game puts pressure on outside runs and Venables can get penetration on that.

Also, Ian Book is not a great quarterback. Stop building him up as one of the all-time greats. He has real limitations and cannot backyard ball his way against a healthy Clemson squad. And frankly, the WR corp is mediocre at best.

Defensively, Lawrence just adds that extra element and ND is one step behind a lot of realllly great athletes playing with determination.

I figured it'd end up 24-7. I didn't think it'd be that in one half.
