If I were him I would have called it quits 4 or 5 years ago.

We can't play with the great teams in big moments for whatever reason. I'd be totally ok with respectable showings even if we lost 90% of them. But we don't show up for most of them.

"Clemsoning" used to be a verb to describe a good football team getting blown out in big games but they ought to start calling it "irishing."

Last era we did was with Lou. We also had 5 straight #1 classes. That helped.

I dunno, man. I don't feel like this is at all representative of the gap between these programs. Something is up. I dunno if it's the Lea situation or what, but this is not the same team we've watched all year.

Agreed.

The problem is how in the hell do you close this Dabo/Saban gap? Not only us. But the whole damn country. The only answer is Urban Meyer. And well, that won’t happen for a million reason. So. We’re f’ed.

They haven't called many penalties tonight. Even if the refs were going to help Clemson tonight, it didn't matter lol. ND isn't a blown call or two away from competing tonight. They got blown out after the first few drives

BINGO! This isn't on the officiating. Not sure there is a specific problem or problems. With a few exceptions (very few), the entire team is playing uninspired. Maybe we should have played Wake?

Cheers and Go Irish!!

I guess you would be surprised if you could see the way momentum can be held to one side or the the other by a man blowing on a whistle.
We can’t score so what’s different? The receivers are being held off the ball more than the tv is showing also

There's a ton of factors working in Clemson's favor that weren't there last time.

I think it’s part TL being back (best player in college football) and part Book going back to his old self. Book played the best game of his career against them and we won at home, in OT. When you play teams that are better (I think Clemson is) the margin of error is so small.

Don't get me wrong, Saban/Dabo are a step above BK, I'm just not sure that's the issue, or at least not the primary issue. There are many things you can point to, and IMO, it's a robust combination.

What’s the over / under on hours until the BK Revisited thread gets bumped?

After the playoff game I said we have seen all this program is capable of. We are the mini boss before the true final bosses of college football. We can get an elusive surprise huge win (Clemson this year, USC in 2017, OU in 2012) but we aren’t a championship team. Everyone who says we aren’t worth a fuck in the grand scheme of things is totally right. Something has to change within this program somehow someway because we aren’t going to see anything worth a fuck other than a few false hope wins.

I think the gap is that big if you look at the raw talent on the rosters. Their skill athletes are a tier above ours across the board. Their qb is in a tier by himself.

BK is a part of the blame. I mean he’s the HC. But he doesn’t deserve to lose his job. You got Lea w/ one foot out the door. Losing Patterson which turns a Joe Moore Award worthy OL into a non-factor. An always shaky secondary that finally got exposed. Rees has a bright future but he was clearly out-classed tonight.

ND needs to relocate to Atlanta...LOL

Have to recruit better. If you can’t, find someone who can. It is and will always be Jimmies and Joes.

Well, Directtv took ABC off of their network in my area & I have tried to find the game streaming online with no luck. I can’t pay $65 to watch the game and that was the only option I found. Sounds like the Irish are not playing well and the game is ugly, so I guess I am proud I didn’t spend that $65 to end up being sick.
I am afraid that the committee will find a way to push ND out of the playoffs if they lose this game. I sure would love a story book ending that saw ND vs. Clemson part 3 and ND winning. Then go on a step further and beat the mighty semi-pro team alabama! I am just afraid that is not going to happen because usually ND is put in games because of the crowd they bring. This year that point is moot.

So those calling for Book to just toss it up, we've seen it twice in two plays. Neither worked, but at least we got bailed out. The PI wasn't bad at all IMO. DB had his head around, and there was mutual hands.
