Here's Frank Beamer's All-American ballot, featuring six Hokies. Yes, that's right: six AAs on a team that didn't even win its division in the crappy ACC.
well, who should we get to vote then? the completely unbiased media? US!? i mean, there's going to be bias everywhere. it's just something you have to roll with.
and in beamer's defense, his defense isn't bad, and while not all americans, their linebackers are darn good. and two others are an OL and a PK, very meh all american positions.
good point.Let coaches vote, but don't let them vote for there own players.
B.S. This isn't a f-ing all-star game voting voucher at Wrigley Field. That sucks.
I didn't see a whole helluva lot wrong with his ballot to be honest.
There are 24 spots on the AA team, right? the 22 usual suspects and two special teamers, I think...
So 25% of the top 24 players in the nation are on one above average team? How can that be remotely true?
If it is, the other 18 starters on VT must REALLY suck.
Yes it's biased, but at some positions you feel you really know a kid and his potential and what effort and ability he gives you day in and out and probably are more so inclined to vote him over kids you don't see all that much about. I'm sure you see a similar situation on ballots from other top tier programs....most likely worse at some places
Let coaches vote, but don't let them vote for there own players.
I dont think it's that outlandish, their defense is absolutely loaded.
Yeah, I kinda struggle with that. Honestly, though I hate them, USC would be the ONE team who could REMOTELY pretend to have that many AA's...but even they don't.
Somewhere Mike Garrett is reading this thread and thinking... "Damn Right!!! Let's put up another banner!!!"
hahahahahahahaha
