The difference here is that Tebow shouldered the load and won a National Championship. The best result here is that ND heads to an improbable BCS date with a very leaky defense.

This is a rumor on the 4HL, someone said this happened in the locker room after the game. The only people that know if this is true are the guys in the locker room.

As for Phork's statement. I do not get how this rings hollow? this sounds like a guy making a stand and could be the turning point in the program if it is true.

Tim Tebow talked the talk and walked the walk.
The real difference here is that Jimmy Clausen said it and if the world finds out about it, it will bring people back to say how cocky and arrogant he is instead of looking at this as a statement from a leader.

Agree, If he really did say it I absolutely love the passion and fire that he has. There is no doubt in my mind that if the defense could play as well as our offense Jimmy would be right. Unfortunately when he is on the sidelines it is out of his hands though. Regardless of how our defense plays from here on out I love that Jimmy is taking charge and leading the fellas, only good things can come of that.

I agree, Should he say, "We will only lose 1 or 2 more games." or "We will try hard to not lose any more games" Thus suggesting, they had tried hard yet.

The comparisons to what Tebow said are unfair at this juncture. Because what he said and what Florida did have already occurred. Had Florida lost 2 more games after that he would have looked cocky. But they didn't, they won out and he was dubbed a leader for taking over the team. What Clausen said (if he did say it) has occured but the remaining games have not, thus the result is unknown. Will he be dubbed a leader or will he be dubbed cocky? That remains to be seen.

Joe Montana led the 49ers in several comebacks, the thing his teamates said was he was cocky. He seemed to consider it a forgone conclusion they would march down the field and win. Larry Bird was known to tell opposing players he was getting the ball and going to make the winning shot. His teamates said he was cocky. The point is, great palyers believe they are going to win every game they play. I like it.
