Does anyone have an update/progress report on how his Spring is going? Cierre is a recruit that I was extremely high on a couple of years back. I know that last year he was red-shirted and passed ont he depth chart by Theo Riddick, but with Riddick switching to reciever, I'm assuming Cierre has been seeing more reps, etc.

He is pushing for time, but hard to tell right now. In spring practice, he has excelled in catching and shown great quickness.

I wouldn't get too excited about him. A friend of mine is a High School official in So. Cal. He did a couple of Woods' games. He tells me that Wood is incredibly fast, but didn't really look like an NCAA D-IA back, on the field. This is a guy who used to officiate in the same league that Concord De LaSalle plays in, so he has certainly seen alot of D-IA talent play.

Allen appears to be #1. Gray and Wood are battling for PT, thats about all that is being said

I hope he turns into a stud. I'm just advising cautious optimism, as opposed to unabashed excitement.

I think Wood has potential to be our #1 back, I haven't been impressed w/ Allen at all.

I'm sure your friend is a fine official who knows a lot about football.

But, Cierre had offers from ND, Florida, USC, Auburn, Cal, Nebraska, UCLA, etc. It doesn't mean he'll be good, but speed alone doesn't get you that.

True. But a scholarship offer doesn't mean that you will be a starting tailback, either.

With that speed and size, perhaps he would be better at wide receiver (remember Golden?).

I honestly expect a lot from CW in this offense
