It has gotten to the point now that Ricky has to change the order up. The offense is abysmal. Moncada had a nice night, but had another 2ks. He has 66 PA with 12 H, 9BB and 28ks. You can't have that for a lead off. He is trying to do to much. Move him to the 2 spot. Also the bonehead fielding and base running plays so far to the season shows me that they really hunkered down on learning this shit. I know its not even 10% into the season but come on, coming out of spring training those fundamentals have to be fresh. I am so sick of seeing the Sox bunt as well.. This year and last. Let these guys swing. If this keeps up for Ricky he may be gone a 2nd time with another Chicago team that has a lot of young talent. I bet you see Omar Vizquel move up through the ranks with some of these prospects, and eventually become a bench coach or 3B coach with the MLB Sox.

Miggy Gonzalez will be on his way out after another 2-3 Kopech starts in AAA. Hes completely done. I wouldn't doubt if you see some other guys come up. Hope Fulmer can have another quality start. If he can progress it will be a pleasant surprise as I thought he was 100% bound for the pen coming out of camp.

Agree with all of this.

Those uniforms were on point last night. I know Paul Lukas pointed out the font discrepancy in the patch, but big deal. The powder blues looked magnificent. I wish they would come out with throwback batting helmets, though. Always bugs me seeing the black lids with the old jerseys.

I hope that the Sox wear these ones a couple more times this year.

Couldn't agree more. Those Jerseys were sick. Might be my new lid for this season.

Moncada and Anderson OBP .323 and .321 respectively. Not ground breaking but not bad. Good to see TA now at 6 walks and 7 stolen bags too. Moncada also picked up another bag. Those 2 should be batting back to back, but I do not like TA at leadoff, or Moncada either. Maybe a 2/3?!

It's terrible. Their weighted On Base is bad too.

If you're tanking, and I'm pretty sure they are, keep putting them out there at the top of the lineup. It's all you can do.

20% of the Winston Salem team will be the MLB roster in two years in a perfect world.

I disagree about it being terrible for OBP.. It would have them being in the Top 50 in the AL for OBP. And its trending upward, so it is not as bad as you make it to be. The K's are what is terrible. Dunning, Luis Robert, Basabe, Dylan Cease, Sheets, Basabe, Rutherford and Adolfo I would be ok with.

A Tim Anderson walk and Moncada Slam in the same inning. Sign me up! Timmy is going to have more walks this month than he has in his career. Now, about those errors...

Almost over, great day for Yoan and the offense overall, especially after an abysmal run the last few games.

But horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE pitching. Fulmer seems destined for the pen. His stuff is just too wild.

Yeah, but their xwOBA aren't nearly as bad. Anderson is at .345 and Moncada is at .394

Christ, I knew this was going to be a bad season, but this is just pathetic.

Outscored 20-0 by Houston and we're not even a game and a half into the series.

Finally good to see a win, and an offensive explosion. Fulmer saved his job for one more start and finally gave the pen a rest. He looked pretty good yesterday. Hope he can be more consistent. Stone said with Miggy going to DL, that saved his job for this start, and he took his opportunity to stay in the rotation. Yoan with a solid day yesterday. Would have been great to see him get that cycle. .OBP up to .345 .OPS up to .838. I still don't like him at leadoff but good to see his swing is coming around.

Abreu again having a solid year, under the radar as usual .305BA .577 Slg, .372OBP, 6 homers. Guy is a stud.

You think he gets dealt?

Yeah, maybe time to promote Omar Vizquel to the big league team. Can't possibly be worse than what I'm seeing right now.

What's that going to accomplish? This team was projected by some to lose nearly 100 games. They appear to be on task for that.

This is by design, is it not? Rick Hahn has stated, since this tear down began, they hope to have as many of these prospects come up to the Majors at once as possible. It's going to be hard to accomplish, but they have time tables set on a lot of these guys that bring them up together.

There is a great deal of talent in Winston Salem right now, and that's at least two years away. They're tanking and awaiting their assets to come through the system. I don't know how any supporters of this club could have missed this. There was no intention of trying to win a division this year.

I don't see them dealing Abreu yet. I think they want him in the system a little longer as the trusted veteran with all of these young guys, especially Cubans, until the torch is ready to be past on to say Moncada to mentor Robert etc.

They won't deal Abreu in late April/early May nor will they fire Ricky Renteria. It's crazy, especially considering this team right now is a good model on how to rebuild/tank. This was about as methodical a tear down as you'll see by an MLB GM. Hahn flipped so many assets that his farm system became a Black and White Wave. It was done in a short amount of time, too.

If someone needs a 1B/DH by June/July and throws another package of prospects at Hahn, will he say no? It could be hard to, especially if you're dealing with a "win now" GM that needs the bat.

If anyone is expecting anything from this team or even next years, I'd stay away. They're not good and they're not supposed to be. They ended up winning too many games at the end last year and Detroit REALLY decided to tank, but they're still in a great position going into the June draft (shortstops there for the taking because Tim Anderson isn't good).

Kopech is probably coming up soon. Kids from Charlotte to Winston Salem and back. I think they're incredibly interesting from the top on down, but no one should be placing expectations on the MLB club this year.

Absolutely i have zero expectations but want to see the following at the major league level for what we have.

-Lopez works on command cuts down Walks - guy is a bulldogg

-Anderson works more on fielding, i think he finally is in the right spot in the order, good to see him stealing bases, taking balls, seeing the ball better, he is on a low risk, good control contract, he is going nowhere right now unless Machado comes in. I disagree with your he isnt good comment.. This is his 2nd full year in majors, he is 24. Currently out of all MLB Shortstops he is #10 in BA, Tied for #7 in HRs, #2 in SBs, #8 in Slugging, and #9 in OPS. Those are all trending the right way. Give him time, he is headed the right direction.

- Work on Giolitos control as well.. Have to build his confidence.. Right now he looks like maybe a #3 starter

- When Rodon comes up, keep him healthy, let him complete the whole season when he comes up

- Work on Fulmers progression, either as a #5 starter, or a solid long reliever/closer

- Give Yolmer a shot at Leadoff - guy has been productive, Let Moncada hit #2. Have Anderson hitting at 7 spot

-DFA Omar Narvaez, Miguel Gonazlez asap, bring up some young guys. Not Seby yet, but Kevan Smith to just get Narvaez out of here. He blows. Send Adam Engel back to AAA.

He is what he is. They signed him to a deal and they're stuck.

He has competition in the minors that will be coming up in the years ahead. Could wind up in the bullpen if he can't sort himself out.

- When Rodon comes up, keep him healthy, let him complete the whole season when he comes up

They'll probably limit him at first. As they should.

- Work on Fulmers progression, either as a #5 starter, or a solid long reliever/closer

He'll be in the pen.

People who get on base should hit 1-2. Moncada should be in one of those spots and be instructed to work counts.

No need for this yet. These guys are there for a reason: they're tanking and need people like them on the team. Gonzalez just went DL didn't he?

It's late April. They're projected to lose 97 games. It's going according to plan. Stay the course.

This past week, the Jose Quintana trade looked like this for the White Sox:

Dylan Cease (2-0, 0.69 ERA, 13 IP, 10 H, 18 K, 2 BB)

Eloy Jimenez (.481/.500/.852)

Not as important, but almost is the fact that Quintana has underwhelmed on the Northside. His current 2018 stat line: 3-2/4.99/30.2 innings in 6 starts/1.533 WHIP.

Easily his worst season in regards to ERA and WHIP. If he didn't have the Cubs' bats bolstering him, he'd easily be 1-4 at best.

Getting a little more love for Collins? Lot of hate from your direction at him last year.. He has been on a terror the last few weeks after starting extremely cold.

Adolfo going to be tough to keep from moving up fast as well.

Between Rutherford, Basabe and King Luis, W-S has a proverbial treasure trove of stellar outfielder prospects right now.

He was bad at the time I commented that he was bad. I'm not sure how that's hate, but sure, he's off to a great start right now. His progression behind the plate is what everyone is going to be watching.

He's also drawing walks like a motherfucker, and that is something I can't possibly hate.

In other news, Jordan Stephens is doing well in AA Birmingham. 4 IP, 2H, 2BB & 5K line in his last start. He has only given up 2 ER in his last 21.2 IP (22/8 K/BB).

16 goodl starts in AA last year, he could be headed to Charlotte sooner than later.
