What a fit! KC...he's perfect for them.

Rick Hahn has scorched the Earth. Unreal. This team will suck to high heaven for the next two months and next year. By 2019 it should start to take shape.

Rejoice Sox, fans.

Hello Sox fans, hope to see you next summer...

They're going to suuuuuuuuck August/September/next season. It's going to be hard to watch, but if this pays off...

Has a gm ever won gm of the year for trading 10+ guys off the 25 man roster in 365 days and packing the farm to the gills? I can't remember a scenario like this rebuild, this fast.

The first overall pick in 2018 would appear to be either HS SS Brice Turang or Florida RHP Brady Singer. HS RHP Kumar Rocker is up there too.

Long way to go, but the White Sox have clearly positioned themselves for top three picks in 2018 and 2019.

Curious to see if they do more today before the deadline.

Hahn is a miriacle worker... or is he? Got the Royals top draftee from last year for a garbage player and $2.5M.

The interesting part of the trade might be the other guy. Andre Davis is a 6-6 lefty that brings it at near 100 mph. He was also a first baseman who batted .380 with power.

Who's left? Pack your bags.

I don't think the Sox will Take the power hitting outfielder from Clemson, he seems to strike out a lot. I would like to see the Sox either A. Take a guy who hits for the best average and has a ton of speed or B. Take the best arm available in the draft. If there is a for sure stud pitcher available you take him. They really don't have a lot of lefty's now in the system. They are in need of a stud lefty arm.

Are you talking about Seth Beer from Clemson? If you're worried about strikeouts, you are probably safe to cease from doing so. He hits home runs and walks a ton. Strikeouts aren't being viewed in the same negative light as they were in the 1990s. An out is an out.
Career Stats - Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

Someone who gets on base and has a ton of speed is probably what you want more. Guys at the top of the order need to get on base. They get extra at bats per game. Their batting average matters, but isn't the end all be all. High average and high OBP batting first? Yes.

The best lefty in the draft for 2018 is from Mississippi State, but right now might not warrant being a top five pick. The Sox have LHP Jordan Guerrero doing pretty well right now. He's flying under the radar because of Lopez, Kopech, Dunning and Hansen doing so well. He's pitched 121 innings and has struck out 117. He's allowed 116 hits.

Kansas City makes total sense. If anyone is going to find value in a Melky Cabrera rental, it's Dayton Moore. They're putting him in RF, too, which is interesting.

Davis projects to a relief role, but maybe there is something else there they can exploit. If you've seen his delivery, you know scouts don't care for it and they question his ability to start in the Majors. See Carson Fulmer (bad). I don't know where you're seeing he is near 100 MPH. He's reportedly 92-94 with movement? He's throwing strikes this year, though, and shows command. It's all good.

Rick Hahn can now sit back and chill. Come winter, find what you can flip in a year come July 2018.

Ha!!! I wouldn't doubt if Sox bring him back in the spring as a veteran to have with the young bucks. Gonna have to have some veteran presence and Melky loved it here.

Sidenote - Rest of league may as well just stop playing now. Sox with back to back wins, might just win out the rest of the season! ha!

Hopefully they bring back the, These kids can play tag line that was the 2000 slogan.

It's gonna be fun to measure the '18-'19 organization vs the '99-'00 organization.

I agree. So do the numbers.

He's actually at 0.0 WAR right now, which is actually good considering a month ago he was negative. He's been on a tear lately at the plate.

OK. He's garbage, I get it.

I wonder how many garbage switch hitters with 1700 hits, a lifetime .286 avg a current avg of .295 w/ obvious defensive deficiencies ever got picked up to play RF for a contender?

Even I thought he was going to be a spot starter or rent a bat for those moments when WAR means D!CK... BUT some sucker who does this for a living wants to put him in RF? He should be fired because this guy will never win anything.

This is the equivalent of the Bulls bringing back Scalabrine and starting him at center.

You keep beating the dead horse, not me. I've moved on. He is what he is. Any fan of this club, right now, should be focused on the future and not the past. Melky Cabrera is part of their past. Be thankful. To go from negative WAR to 0.0 is actually a compliment, FFS. He's been productive lately. He's in a walk year. Maybe he goes to a team that sneaks into the postseason. Someone overpays him based on that. He wins.

He's going to hit lefties because he's pretty good at that and Alex Gordon isn't. They're both two of the worst LF in the AL. The guy KC has in right is pretty good.

He's a left fielder that can't field, doesn't hit for power and can't run bases. Strikeouts ticking up, walks ticking down and he didn't walk much to begin with. He's 33 in less than two weeks.

Hits and batting average. So it goes. The Sox should be glad to be rid of him and should not bring him back. If he does his part as a platoon guy for KC, it could be substantial for them, provided Ned Yost doesn't figure out a way to screw it up.

Alex Gordon vs lefties since the start of 2016: .201/.320/.301

Melky Cabrera, same time frame: .310/.340/.498

He's a likable guy by all accounts and shouldn't be an issue for two months. Probably helps KC get into the play-in game.

More important than Melky Cabrera: Avoiding these things during a rebuild

Sox fans collectively shit themselves when that happened last night. Glad just a bruise. Hope Garcia is alright. He is an interesting prospect for us as well. Now its Delmonico time. Bridgeport is celebrating an Ital coming up to the dance!

Garcia has to sit for concussion protocol. Should be good.

Moncada day to day is a sigh of relief for sure. Holy hell.

That Engel guy channeled something far beyond his inner Aaron Rowand.

Delmonico is 25 and making his MLB debut. Absolutely perfect for what they need to do moving forward.

This is one of my favorite teams to follow right now. Both Chicago teams are great fun at the moment and should be for the next couple of years.

Michael Kopech struck out 10 batters on Saturday in 7 innings pitched on 99 total pitches. Have to imagine we see him soon. He's been dominant recently.

Koepch has been "dialing it back" in an effort to throw more strikes. Imagine dialing it back to 95-97 MPH. Unreal.

Lopez looked very good on Friday night. The one thing that stood out in the 6 innings he pitched was his movement. His stuff is dynamic in that regard.

Rick Hahn traded Tyler Clippard yesterday to Houston for a player to be named or cash considerations. The guy never stops. Wondering what they plan to do with Garcia this winter, and if he finds a taker for James Shields, they need a statue of the man next to the Picasso at The Daley Center.

Went to that game on Friday, like I did Moncada's first in Sox Uni.. This team is going to be good. Lopez is more compact and it has a different sound when it hits the glove. He hit 99 at least 5 times I saw, and was regularly hitting 96-97 on the radar. His off speed stuff had batters fooled. Moustakas first at bat had him look awful, but he gave him a cookie for a HR next at bat. Future is bright.

Jimenez is on absolute fire. In 28 games, 38 hits, 75 TB, 8 HR, 26 RBI, 1.142 OPS, 714 Slugging. Woah.

Don't sleep on Dane Dunning either. 9.9 K per 9 and getting better each start.. I think he is a future 4/5 starter for Sox.

Can not wait for Jiminez to come up.

My boy Delmonico and that Donny Baseball stroke of his has been on fire. Probably won't last but that swing is pretty to watch. He hit a HR in every game I saw him in Spring Training this year (it seems that way at least). I hope he sticks.

In other news:

Melk Man's batting .370ish with 3 HR and 14 RBI's in 14 game. Avg up in the high .290's now.

Still garbage.

Dumpster Fire. I also believe Nicky D has been on base safely in all games up so far.

Lopez threw 19 pitches that registered at 97 MPH or higher in the first two innings.

First 11 games. Franchise record.

Interesting nugget from the minors: Since being promoted from the DSL to AZL, White Sox 3B prospect Ramon Beltre has a .380/.418/.540 line in 12 games.

Kopech's slider sits at 88 MPH and his changeup is at 90 MPH.
Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Whatever is on the field right now and even next year shouldn't matter. The big picture for this club isn't now, it's later. In 2-3 years, anyone on this team right now, earlier this year or in previous years will be forgotten. They have had some pretty good players with obvious flaws, but come 2019, 2020 they won't matter and won't be as good as they are now.

Their previous experiment failed. They finally realized it and didn't pussy foot around. They didn't toe the water. They ran full speed and dove right in head first. They now have one of the two best farm systems in baseball (some say Sox, some say Braves is #1).
