It ain't over.
Would've been nice to see some signs of life from this team. But they just haven't had it lately. Losing 4 of the past 5 series is just inexcusable. The bats continue to pull houdini acts. The pitching has unraveled time and time again. Will has no semblance of control over this clubhouse.

They're just limping to the finish line and praying nobody gets hot. It's not working.

They had the lead yesterday and the day before. That's a sign of life. They got beat. That's life in general. Losing 4 of 5 series isn't inexcusable, it's baseball.

I don't know what you're referring to about having control over the clubhouse. Are they eating chicken wings in between innings and running amok with strippers at night?

There are projections for this kind of thing, and those projections showed a month ago this would come down to the wire. With Cleveland. So here we are. Playoff Odds Graphs | FanGraphs Baseball

It's a young team that is probably regressing to the mean now instead of July or August. They lost 102 games a year ago. The fact we're even sitting here talking about this in mid September is wild enough.

I otherwise agree that they've been bad this month, but they're tied in the loss column and have games left to play.

Yep, and just reading “in the midst of a pennant race” made me do a double take! 😉. What a year!
What pisses me off and always has is that the White Sox could run their organization like the Guardians, Rays, Brewers, etc. and have it the best of both ways. Winning without a massive payroll in a division that is small market and very winnable each year.

It's frustrating to no end that they won't invest in their front office, minor league system and analytics. In 2026 no less.

I think regardless of what happens these next two weeks, Chris Getz is probably Executive of the Year. It would seem shocking if he didn't win. Although, you could just give it to Matt Arnold in Milwaukee every year for the most part.

The Sox are pretty fascinating in that they can look absolutely dead in the water for two weeks and then come out and look like a division leading team.

Gotta be the Southside jerseys.

As a Red Sox fan, I’m rooting hard for the White Sox to get that last wildcard. I’d much rather play them as opposed to the other contenders.

The pitchers just have nothing in the tank. The bullpen is gassed and Venable, for all the good he’s done this year, really struggles with his bullpen mgmt.
This 💯 🎯. Free agent signings, trades, year to year improvement of current players and/or call ups of starting pitching is essential to the future success of this team.

Whatever happens this team is young and talented. As a Guardians fan I want to see both in.

The thing Cleveland has going for it is that they have been in this position before and know how to win these types of games/ series. What they did being down like 16 games to the Tigers last year and coming back to take the division is something I will always remember. I see a lot of the talent the Sox have and honestly reminds me of watching some of the veteran Guardians coming up and seeing them grow within the system. Believe in the system, maintain you best players when you can and watch them grow and gel.

Regardless of what happens, the future is bright for your Sox and I’m hoping that they can find a way to handle business the last 8 games. Cleveland ain’t even thinking about popping the corks yet as they know how good your team is.
