Lost in the Eloy Jimenez promotion is reliever Ian Hamilton, a future closer candidate for the White Sox. In his first game with Charlotte, he pitched a hitless inning and a third with 3 strikeouts. At Birmingham, he had a 1.78 ERA, 34 K's in 25.1 IP, 12 saves.

I agree with this.. No doubt he will be in next years pen.. Him and Jace Frye hopefully a start to something that can be productive.

Also lost in the mix was Friday's game for Giolito.. i was there on Friday and man talk about a guy who needed that outing. More so than the win.. He had 7IP's, 8ks and 2 BB's.. that is what i want to see.. Better command, less walks. Hopefully he can build on that because i believe if he can't string together some decent starts soon, he is one bad start away from back in AAA.

I hope that Rodon's outing yesterday really helps Lopez and Giolito, too. He hadn't had his real good stuff in his first three starts back, and yesterday was able to string 8 walkless innings. I think he is going to be a real asset to both of their growth, especially if he can stay healthy. At some point, Lopez is going to start missing bats and his K rate is going to skyrocket. His stuff is too good for the strikeout rate he's had on the Sox.

This is verbatim from Chuck Garfiens tweet yesterday. Gotta source the guy my friend so we can't think it's original thought.

Kopech was lights out this weekend.

Basabe hit a 102 MPH fastball out for a HR in the Futures Game yesterday.

Basabae's was a bomb.. Kopech needs to be consistent with his off speed.. Hope he can put it together and be a baller.

Good to see Gio have a nice outing this weekend. He has been way better 4 of his last 4 starts (Cincinnati was bad) Good to see walks going down and IP going up.. I am more optimistic about him now than i was in April and May.

Moncada - He's on fire in July. Strikeouts are still up but his OPS is at .739 , OBP is up to .320 finally. Hes starting to see the ball better.. If he can keep trending up the rest of this season, skys the limit.

Spencer Adams, RHP, Chicago White Sox (Triple-A Charlotte): 6.0 IP, 6 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 K

He's a back of the rotation or bullpen guy. Decent zip on fastball, slider secondary, changeup third.

He's got to be close.

If Shields gets picked up, he will get called up.. Him and Hamilton I expect up, when Shields and Soria are dealt.

Michael Kopech, RHP, Chicago White Sox (Triple-A Charlotte): 6 IP, ER (2 R), 7 H, BB, 9 K.

Two consecutive starts with only one walk. Prior to those, his last one walk start was in April.

I'd like to see them call him up and work him out of the bullpen first. Get a taste of MLB hitters, then in 2019 he's in the rotation.

Eloy is extremely hot.. Was named AAA player of the week, and Sox will have to call him up sooner than later.

"Eloy Jimenez, the team's top-rated prospect and the No. 2 prospect in baseball, is killing it lately. Since returning from the disabled list in the middle of the month, Jimenez has a .424 batting average and is slugging a jaw-dropping .818 — thanks to three homers and four doubles — in eight games."

Rodon looks in midseason form now.. Guy is a bulldogg. 7 2/3, 8ks, 2BB, 2ER, 2 Hits last night. Those 2ER shouldn't have happened in the 8th and were given up by Minaya.

Gotta bring him up soon.. Eloy Jimenez Over last 10 games
.583/.600/1.139 5 Homers, 8 Runs, 11 RBI's, 24 times on base. Time is now for this young man to come up. He is obliterating AAA.

Dylan Cease another solid outing. 6IP, 5Hits, 0ER, 7ks. He probably gets bumped to AAA for next year to start the season, gets called up mid season to bigs if he keeps this up.

Any more boxes to check?

How about Madrigal with 0 strikeouts in 62 at bats. Remarkable. It's going to be fun watching him come through the system.

I wouldn't bring anyone up now if I'm them. Once you call someone up, the service clock starts. Why would you want any more of your young guys playing on a bad MLB team for two months?

I'd read that Rick Hahn's plan was to attempt to bring as many of these guys up together as possible. Eloy and Kopech could start the season on the team next year along with several others.

Their flipping Soria was genius, and they picked up a lefty from the Yankees as well. This team seems to be going in the right direction. Everything they've done since acquiring James Shields has been spot on.

That Madrigal stat line is awesome. He's going to move up nicely. I read Hahn's article from 2 days ago.. The only checkboxes i can see for Eloy are staying healthy for longer periods of time, and working on defense. Kopech, getting his BB/9 down.

I think you see Hamilton, Kopech, Eloy, Zavala, maybe, just maybe Cordell break camp next year for sure.. Gotta get the rest of these guys healthy. Hansen will be down next year, Adams will be down next year.. They need the off season to work on getting back on track.

Kopech has two walks in his last three starts. Thursday wasn't his best start, but he didn't walk anyone.

Yes that is a good progression, but he is still averaging 5.3 per 9 on the season.. He has to get that down. He won't be able to rely solely on fastball in bigs. He's been getting better with control on off speed pitches and has dialed it back to 95 on fastball for control.

Just as a reference point Giolito has a 5.15 BB/9. He has 65 BB in 113.2 IP which is 2nd worse in all of MLB. Kopech has 58 in 99.1 IP. So that number is atrocious.. Would have him as about 70th over all in that category.
