Man already the sports radio goons are throwing Charlie under the bus. They are now beginning to put a paralell between Ty and Charlie. Of course it is just something to talk about because everyone loves to trash ND.
Another thing, I am tired of hearing about how Charlie is winning with "Ty's" players, well how about he lost with the same guys. These guys are all Ty's recruits so you can't have it both ways.
It's called the Ivory Rule. 99.44% of sportswriters and the sports media are absolute idiots. They care about nothing else but breaking a big story, and we lost. So they are going to jump on the Golden Dome for all it's worth. Turn your AM radio off.
As for winning and losing with Ty's players... these kids are Charlies men now. However, these kids were recruited under Willingham save for the 2006 class. Yes, I know the 2005 class was partially under Weis, however I do not put it on him since he walked into a shitstorm and tried his best to recruit with minimal time and resources.
Our roster, aside from a few of Ty's recruits and the current freshman class, is mainly comprised of 2 and 3 star players. Michigan, by compariso, has had solid 4-5 star classes for the last 5 years. Say what you want about "stars don't matter" and what not, but talent is what wins football games, especially when the less talented team puts the ball on the carpet and in the hands of the opposition.
For instance, 3 star Terrail Lambert was matched up with 4 star Mario Manningham. Lambert, who has one more year of experience, was solidly beaten by Mario's studder move for three touchdowns... I believe Lambert's jock strap is still out on the 35 yard line. Matched up one-on-one, it really isn't a shocker to me that this would happen. Manningham is simply a more talented player then Lambert.
And you can do this sort of comparison at many positions all the way down the roster.
