The point she made is that she chooses to LIBERALLY interpret a partisan statement made by an ultra-conservative media figure. Wanting someone's policies to fail vs. wanting your country to fail not the same. Let me try this liberal interpretation thing...

Rush Limbaugh: Wants socialism to fail and a free market economy to prevail.
Barack Obama: Wants capitalism to fail so he can micromanage the country and spread the wealth.

Now you can continue to harbor your resentment towards his policies but Job losses have slowed, the market has started to stabalize and beginning in April the majority of Americans are paying less taxes for now

in regards to conscience protection... if true, which I doubt... nice to see he fliped on that... like he did when he called late term abortion murder and then a month later was in full support of it... conscienc protection is something that should NEVER be an issue and he made it so...

one of my beefs with Bush... way too driven by the Religous Right on some social issues... I do feel that has something to do with Obama reactions... does not make it right... yet Bush was far from Conservative with federal spending... drove me nuts...

If i remeber correctly, one of the first things Obama did in office was to meet privately with the House and Senate Republicans to get their input on what to do about the economy> several times in fact he has tried to include republicans in on hashing out plans, but just like during the election, Republicans had no ideas (and i very much respect and like John McCain). he is called a socialist because he does not believe in letting big corporations have any more power and has decided to take them down a peg. What an elitist. This entire notion of Obama wanting late term Abortions comes entirely from the fact that he did not vote on a bill. You have to be completely ignorant, or just want to believe such a story because it gives you achance to demonize the man, to think any one would be for that. Asfor the conscience protection act, one of Obama's biggest strengths is his ability tro discuss, listen, and to want to educate people. he has always talked about having a consience protection act, and reducing abortion rates. you just refuse to listen. Even some of the most conservative of students at Notre Dame gave Obama his due for the speech.

Obama also help pass the new emmisions regulations. I know some in here are gonna say that is another example of a socialist regime, but if the US automakers knew what they were doing, they would not have introduced the HUmmer H3 when Toyota was pushing the Prius. These new emission standards will eventually be the same as California's which is the strictest in the country. The "big 3" are not challenging the new emission standards because they have no ground to stand on. For years they have tried to sue to relax standards, but since they are now depending on taxpayers money for survival, they have since dropped the suit. I know people in here are probably going to say that the government has no right interfering with corporate decisions, but once these corporations came to congress to ask for government money to bail them out from their own ineptitude. Then it is the governments job to make sure that the taxpayers money does not get waisted in vain. This forces the "big 3" come up with a better business plan. This will also force Ford, GM, and Chrysler to create more eco freindly and fuel efficiant cars. I wonder if IrishAlum will update his automated Obama accomplishment counter now.
