For craft beers hit up Pearl Street Brewery. Four floors of awesomeness. I think they have around 20 beers that they brew on site. Walking distance to HSBC arena- great spot to hit before a concert.
There are some solid restuarants, my favorite is a steak house between Rochester and Buffalo: The Red Osier (not sure they have a vegan menu).
All in all nightlife is good. Others have mentioned Chipewa and Elmwood. People go out late. Last call is 4 am.
The Bills won't be good anytime soon, but the tailgates are a fun.
Reasonably-priced homes. Delaware Ave, Amherst and Williamsville are nice areas.
