I really like these changes.
- The defense replaces Martin with a coach who (1) is just about as experienced a DB coach as you could get, (2) has the same philosophy, and (3) is not an alph dog, like Martin was.
- ST leadership is removed from the defensive coaching.
- OL coach is just in chanrge of making players mean, not coordinating anything.
- Martin is in a leadership position, and dumps recruiting. That man was not meant to sit behind Diaco, as much as I like Diaco. He needs to be looking Diaco and Kelly in the eyes in meetings.
- We are going to install a version of the offense that plays to our strengths (wish we had taken that extra TE!!!). More option with 2 TE and 2 RB sets. Less 3-4 WR sets. The use of RBs as slot guys is something we have to do, based on our personnel. It also adds a real aspect of power to this offense. Seeing Wood, Riddick, GAIII, Russell, etc., lining up in the backfield and then going in motion, or lining up at slot and then motiionng into the backfield, is going to be nice.
- Alford gets to head up recruiting, meaning he will be involved in all major recruitments.
- Booker gets sandwiched between Alford, Denbrock, and Martin. Not going to get over his head. Takes over ST, which will be great for someone with his ambition (keep hearing that he is loved by all the players).
