Really?

Sorry, but when you take a crap that bad on national tv in the biggest game in modern Irish history, there is going to be blame going around. And the reason that we're on these boards is to not only celebrate all the great things tthat the Irish do....but disect the bad stuff and figure out why it happened.

It doesnt mean that people don't see the big picture, or love the team....it's a chatboard. Figuring out what's wrong with your team, and on occasion, blowing off some steam, comes with the territory. Doesn't mean we have to be rude about it....but if a guy looks bad, I have no problem with someone mentioning it.

I appreciate what you're trying to say here, but I don't think it's realistic. What you said is something that Coach Kelly is telling his players.

I have to agree. the term "Blame" has a negative connotation and is often associated with excuse making. Identifying and pinpointing the shortcomings seems only prudent. How else do you prevent them in the future?
I am sorry but I don't believe that Alabama has better players. There was a lot of Notre Dame players playing last night that will be playing on Sunday next year. Perhaps, their running backs are better than ours. Who knows, we never really gave ours a chance. That being said I believe it was obvious that the Alabama players played better than our players did. I refuse to believe it was because they were more talented. Better prepared, put in a better position to win, played better as a team and executed their assignments better absolutely.

It's really quite simple. We didn't get outcoached. Bama was bigger, faster and stronger across the board. I saw us do a lot of what we did all year and not get yardage and give up yardage.

Kelly's comments afterwards told me he already knew it was going to be hard to match their size, strength and speed. We got the wrong end of a couple of calls at the beginning, but it would have only changed the final score, not the outcome.

Let me say first and foremost, we lost fair and square to a team that played better than we did. However, two things I notice about professional analyst on ESPN regarding college and pro. Before the game they will say things like:

It is very important for Team A to get out a score early and settle down if they are to have a chance to win the game. Then after the game if Team A loses and had a couple of questionable calls that prevented them from doing that. They say things like:
"Well, that probably didn't change the outcome." That always blows my mind. I want to call them and say. "Then you were really full of crap at the beginning of the game"

Let's look at the 2nd half. The score Alabama 14 ND 14. Golson through for 270 yards. Alabama never let up. They played till the end they wanted a shutout and blowout. (Not bitching just an observation) My point is that we tied them in the 2nd half and they knew we were going to throw the ball. Hell, we were way behind. We didn't know what they were going to do. We went and turned the ball over on downs in their territory, threw a pic at the five, and got screwed on a fumbled punt at their 25, after we got screwed on what would have been about a 20 yard gain on a bad call and we would not have even had to punt in the first place. Now I don't know for a fact we would have scored on either of those opportunities. I do know for a fact we can't score an offensive TD if our defense is on the field.

I can certainly appreciate and understand how people feel a need to blame someone for the loss, but let's grow up. No more "bagging" on this team-the players or the coaches. It gets old real quick.

If you want to blame someone, blame yourself for doubting the team. Blame the guy that moved over two inches from where he sat during the USC goalline stand. Blame the dude who forgot to wear his leprechaun undies, or the wife who thought it was okay to bake during the game and not cheer in the exact same spot she did during the Pitt game.

Blame anyone, but Please - no more blaming the folks on the team-they took us for a wonderful ride-they are building something special for the long term, and they've given much more to the team than we ever will or have.
Are you kidding me yes there is mega blame---the entrance administration at Alabama. Gotta get those ball players in here boys for our 'organization'. JC transfers welcome. Gotta get a team ready for Lou Saban to work with all under the banner of the sec and being a teacher of young men. Yes sir that little old gray haired lady yelling 'roll tide' is the one to blame.

That's just the thing- I'm disappointed they didn't win, but not mad. Far from it. I'm quite encouraged by the direction of this team. You're just coming across like an angry ex girlfriend. Sand in the vagina much?

No, whats just the thing is that youve insulted me twice because you didnt like what I posted. If you dont like what I post, why not simply ignore them? Thats what most people do. That or challenge the validity of the heart of the post. I havent said anything today that wasnt true.

We all like the direction of the program but were pretty disgusted about last night. Theres nothing wrong with that. Stop insulting those you dont agree with.

I think people are frustrated that six years later, we are no closer than we were in '06. Both years were demolished by sec teams.

Maybe its time to start oversigning and moving the dead weight?
Dude you must have forgotten how ND has looked in the past few years.......please
