Mods - feel free to move or kill this if already reported in another thread.

ESPN just showed BK talking on the topic.

He said we have to get going in 90 days or less to kick a normal season off.
Said they need 4 weeks of prep, and S&C needed 6 weeks. Said 4 weeks was bare minimum.

One of the talking heads said if CFB doesn't happen this year, the loss of revenue itself would likely doom a lot of other sports regardless of covid impact due to the revenue dependency on FB.

I wonder what the NFL would need? 2 weeks of conditioning, 2 weeks of camp and two preseason game maybe?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought S&C was kind of like an ongoing thing in the off-season. I know it was when I was in school albeit a different sport.

Come on man. Of course it is. But no gyms and weight training places are currently open due to social isolation. Sure they can do natural training like cardio, pushups, etc but currently unless you are a 1% who has a gym in their house you can’t do full s&c.

Yup, I'm guessing 5-6 weeks minimum. They've been reducing pad time, as well as wanting to reduce pre season games for a while. IMO, they could get away with only 1 PS game. Instead, do a couple joint practices.

The S&C folks have a lot more contact than coaches over the dead periods, and unless the U is open, even they don't have the needed contact and access to the facilities. If they condense things, it'll be interesting to see if the early on-field product takes a step back. Could see more early upsets and a bit of chaos.

They'll need more than a Soloflex and 90 days to catch up.

I think you're diminishing the obvious gains they'll make doing all the goat yoga and band workouts while stepping up their vegan diets. Whey flax shakes provide a schematic advantage too.

Not so sure about that. When I would visit a close friend who was in prison I saw a lot of dudes that would fold anyone from any team in the SEC in half. Just sayin, the penitentiary workout regimen is nothing to sneeze at...

They LOOK like they could fold em in half. Maybe could in the first 30 seconds but cardio is not their strong suit.

I've hooped in a lot of prisons. Dudes are gassed 5 minutes in.

Ok sure.

Were you in the general population at the prison?

Season Tix renewals are out, While deadline is not until May, deadline is April 15 to get on priority list for Wisconsin. While I have doubts about the season, likely going to pony up.

Notre Dame A.D. Jack Swarbrick: COVID-19 Zoom Transcript

Q: On May 15th being a significant date for Notre Dame:

JS: "It is significant. To be determined in the first instance is how the school will approach the second half of the summer term. Father John (Jenkins) announced earlier the first half of the term would be done online with May 15 being the time to decide how we approach the second half of the summer term.

"That will help inform the decision about moving forward beyond that. For us in athletics, it has an impact on if we conduct any summer camps. We already said we won't conduct any overnight camps. If summer school was in session on campus of the second half of the summer, we might consider some day camps again.

"It also plays into the issue of when the football team would return and the circumstances under which they'd be preparing. Are the dorms open in the traditional way they are in the summer? Is the dining hall available and open? Or are there some other arrangement we'll have to focus on."

Might have to quarantine the football team from the rest of the university this year.

I know somewhere at IE there was some discussion about ND starting on campus activities later than other major schools.

Clemson has had 23 football players test positive since players arrived 2 weeks ago.

Quite a few professional NFL and MLB teams are seeing cases.

Will be interesting to follow

I wonder If those that tested positive have been around the 5G technology?
