Biggest Disappointment This Year

I know the easy answer is the MICH game, but I was expecting us to lose on the road to MICH under the lights for the first time ever at The Big House. I was shocked and saddened by the loss, but it was not totally unexpected.

My biggest disappointment was the terrible effort ND had against USC. They had two weeks to prepare and it was not even a close game. I saw BK at a luncheon in Memphis and I knew the reason he came was because of the bye week--and because last year's luncheon was canceled following Declan Sullivan's death--but I was not expecting to get blown out by USC at ND under the lights for the first time since 1990. I was expecting, at the very least, a tough game. But it seemed like ND did not care about the game at all until it was too late.

I blame BK totally for that loss. He never had the team close to prepared. And I think that is the most disappointing thing, for me. That and the play of Rees.

My biggest disappoinment was the way I acted after the USF and Michigan games.

GO IRISH!!

I'd love to be unbeaten, but 6-3 is a heck of a lot better than many schools. We still have some good games left, a chance to beat Stanford at home, during Andrew Lucks last home game and now a BOWL game!!

GO IRISH!!

We're on the upswing. No worries by me.

QB position has a long way to go, however. My most disappointing thing so far this year.

QBs for me too. It's weird to say, because it has been a strong point for BK in the past.

After last year's 3-0 with multiple weeks to prepare (Purdue, Utah, Miami), I really thought USC was a sure win after the bye, at home, at night. Anyway, the first halves of USF and USC are the biggest disappointments in that I expected good preparation after last season, and the team has been flat both times this year.

The fact that I got the smallest piece of meatloaf this evening at dinner. That kind of stuff just cheeses me off.

Sadly, the Jonas fumble in the USF game. If that ONE PLAY doesn't happen, we may be having a very different season.

Bottom line is the team is much improved 8 and 4 is a realistic season i wasn't expecting a BCS bowl but it definitely is hard to cope with the fact this team could be 8 and 1

Except for the TOs against Michigan, and getting stomped by USC. Barely beating Pitt and a nail biter vs Wake.

Nah, phork, just play the what-if game for a second. Jonas doesn't fumble, we score on that drive, Crist doesn't face a crisis of confidence 5 minutes into game one. I think we all understand the potential Dayne has. We could very easily have won all the games other than USC (still think we would have lost that one) with Dayne starting to really play up to his potential by now. We'll never know, and its sad.

Geez, Now that sucks! Mashed potatoes w/gravy?

The works...taters/gravy, Green Beans, dinner rolls, and I end up with the "Buckaroo"-Kids Meal slice of 'Loaf. No dang justice in this world.

I think we've gotten pretty good pressure considering the injuries. Yesterday especially

You saw it last year with Dayne, but it didn't really manifest itself and we all called it Year1 under Kelly. They guy just cant manage the game. He has all the gifts a QB needs, except reading the D and the field after the snap.

...wading through like 15 posts from holier than thou non-mods jumping some guy's post.

Um...if it sucks, people won't comment...and it takes care of itself....if you want to be a mod...ask. But how about you guys let me read the freaking content and decide w/o your effing commentary strewn all through it.

ANYWAY, I think the overall lack of leadership. Things happen in this game I get it. But we all know what its like to have an ***-kicker in the huddle that reminds you in critical situations to focus. Pretty simple to me...we don't have the in-your-face guy because none of our seniors play mistake free ball...how can you hold anyone accountable if you eff up just as bad. Yea, some guys aren't wired for that role...I get it. But its total BS that we don't have anyone that would do it....we just don't have anyone that can...credibly.

The mistakes are just symptoms of this issue...IMHO. And it makes me nuts...

Crist. Period. I remember people saying before the season that Kelly might as well just announce Crist the starter, because if Rees is better than he is at this point, we are in serious trouble.

If Crist could just get something to click like recent seniors have done in their last year, we wouldn't have a ceiling. Thank heaven something clicked with Jonas Gray. Biggest surprise this year. If he played on Alabama, he would be a Heisman contender with his skill. Too bad it took him this long. And yeah, too bad he fumbled against USF.

Exactly. This "negative posts mean you're a bad fan, I'm going to be a good fan and say how you're negativity sucks" crap about threads that truly aren't that negative is ridiculous. OK, I'll only be positive about that USC game. Jonas Gray had a good run. Now that's the only positive, so no one else should have said anything about it.

You know what would happen if BK took this attitude? If he only pointed out the good things in meetings, if he only showed Rees his good throws? If everyone on here only talked about the good things, this forum would have been dead this season with the exception weeks 3, 5, 6, and 8. If you can't talk about bad preperation, bad turnovers, mental mistakes, and letdowns, then you can't say very much Notre Dame football this season. Don't act like you don't watch the same games.

The 3 losses. I don't care how we lost them but we lost. I hate losing.
