when it's Crist's turn people will be calling for his head as well. some people will never be happy. i know this thread was started in jest but honestly JC is playing good football, mistakes happen. the defense gave up 22 pts and the FG at the end of the half was absolutely uncalled for. we go into half up 17-6 it's a different game, IMHO.
That will depend on the nature of Crist's play.
Jimmy Clausen was locking onto his receivers yesterday which UNC used to their advantage. Yet I wonder how many QB's in college football would have the nerve and the ability to throw the kind of pass JC threw to Floyd on the last offensive play of the game. He put that ball right on the money and it must have been thrown about 100 mph. As I've said before 10% of college QB's would have the nerve to make that throw and of that 10% about 2% could actually make the throw.
He had a great game yesterday. The locking onto WR's would be a huge problem if the talent weren't there but the talent is there. Guys like Drew Brees have to do everything perfectly because they don't have a big arm or good feet. Jimmy Clausen is more like Favre, Elway, etc. because he has so much talent that he's good enough to get away with some minor flaws in his game. If he could eliminate those flaws though he would be, well, beyond great. Last year he was average, to start this year he was slightly above average but he has grown so much in the last 3 weeks that he has put himself into a different stratosphere of QBs, IMNSHO.
