Yeah, I'm sure no other parent in the country helps with their kid's college choice. Do you think his father is helping him with this because he is more wise than a 17 year-old? Maybe Trevor's father knows that this isn't entirely about football, but about his FUTURE. As Trevor stated, he can do anything at Nebraska that he can do anywhere else, football wise. So obviously the education part is a big factor. He isn't guaranteed an NFL career. By going to Notre Dame he gets the attention in school that makes him succeed in getting a degree. Plus, he gets to play for a better team.

And play for a better team? If you asked unbiased people (meaning non-ND and Nebraska fans) I would wager heavily that it would be a split vote on who the 'better' team is.

You are right though, losing Trevor doesn't hurt my feelings at all. Losing an offensive guard from the class isn't a big deal. The same as it is adding him to your class isn't that big of a deal. How it is getting made out to be as such I don't really know.

Trevor is a fine recruit, but he isn't a make or break recruit for any recruiting class.

My only point would be that your assertions have no more verifiable facts backing them up than any of the other posters' assertions. You are telling everyone here things that you, so far, have not proven, giving no reason to believe these allegations over any other rumors presented here.

I'm not attacking you. In fact, I rather like fans of other teams who bring differing viewpoints to the table. I'll take it over 100 posts of "We need this guy", "This guy would be great for us", and "He's gonna be ND" (with no supporting evidence). I'm simply pointing out why your posts aren't taken as hard and fast truths.

The thing about it is, if you were to hear 'rumors', would you not want them from as close to the source as possible? I mean, if you wanted news on the war from Iraq, would you trust someone sitting at home in their office from New York, or someone on the ground in Iraq? The news I am giving is coming from as close to the situation as possible.

Not only that, why is that such a big deal? Are you telling me it is such a wrong thing that ND would get a recruit because a parent is pushing for the school? Are you saying ND has NEVER had that happen in the past? C'mon now!

I don't think anyone ever said there was any concrete problem at NU, it's just the recruiting efforts there are seemingly going in a negative direction. It could be as simple as negative momentum, or there could be something else that is spooking the players right now and giving them cause to step back and evaluate the situation more closely. But either way, NU is having some recruiting problems right now, and we know what it looks like because ND experinced some of it last year.

Was their something going right at Nebraska when we picked up commitments from Bryce Givens, Trevor, Gabbert, etc., in short time? The only thing that seems to be going on is that Trevor is looking around, and seemingly going to change his commitment. The rest were stuff that was getting thrown around that were simply untrue by your fans.

The only hard evidence you've presented is that newspaper article, which I find a great deal less damning towards Robinson's father than you do, apparently. You are making claims without backing them up with anything. You seem to believe that your rumors have more veracity than anyone else's here. You have not proven this to be the case. You can claim to be at the epicenter of Huskerland, but for all we know, you could be down at the Jersey shore, dreaming up another batch of "inside" information. You have no bona fides, sir, and as such, your information is considered to be no more inside than anyone else's.

Since about age 5, really. My friend was a huge Husker fan and it rubbed off on me. He actually got the chance to walk-on during the '00 season. Was too small to really play, so he transferred back home, but he got to play for his dream school, which was pretty cool.

The info I'm providing is common knowledge on Nebraska boards. Go there and ask them the same question, they will give you the same answer.

Did you even read my initial post? My first post was to discuss all the rumors floating around this board about the Nebraska program. From 'something going on down there' to Givens, to Leslie and Trevor. It wasn't limited to just Trevor, but to discuss many other things and clear up stuff that is simply untrue.

Instead of accepting the baiting parts of your post, I'll just address your misconceptions.

Never claimed to be 'close' to the situation as you proclaim. Only that other people have posted about the situation who ARE close to it. From most indications, he is headed to ND.

About Callahan's coaching abilities -- that whole playbook was overhauled. It was one of the reasons the players revolted on Callahan. Tim Brown was quoted in the past of saying "why would you change something that works so well."

Callahan's lineman class is fine. Givens was the top lineman at the Boulder NIKE Camp, and was originally a top 100 player. Hoch was originally a top 100 player as well. Ricky Henry is a lineman who is originally from Nebraska. His HS coach was quoted 2 years ago as saying Ricky was close to Dave Rimington in terms of talent at the same stage. And yes, his HS coach had the opportunity of coaching Rimington in HS.

I could care less about you coming on here, I appreciate you sharing the info from the Husker board. I have nothing against Nebraska, I hope to see them win the Big 12 this year actually. I think some Husker fans need to stop throwing Trevor's dad under the bus and blaming him for what is going on with him right now, and maybe look at other factors that have gone on lately. If I was Trevor I would be pissed off that Nebraska is bringing in JUCO O-lineman commitments right now after his verbal. That would piss me off to no end if I was him and I would start looking also. If there is one thing that I saw last year that fans shouldn't do, is trash a recruits father, the way things went down last year with Mr. Smith from Tennessee is a perfect example.

Recruits read the boards and when Trevor looks on the Husker board and see the way some of the fans are trashing his dad, I am quite sure that will make his decision that much easier to take back his verbal to NU and commit to ND or the skunkbears

Hold it right there, we all know that every college message board is rampant with rumors and mis-informed individuals. So what makes you think that your message boards are any different.
