Embarrassing display of whatever they choose to call that

By far the worst fight i've ever seen...Dada 5000 literally fell down because he was so tired and they called the fight...Neither one of them was prepared to go more than 2:00. Bellator has some appealing fights, but when all the dudes are around 40+, that's the risk you take. Hopefully Shamrock and Gracie don't break any hips.

Agreed. I've never seen two sloths in a ring until tonight.

It was terrible! I was literally laughing at how bad the last two fights were.

Haha everyone relax. I knew what I was tuning in to watch. This isn't the first Kimbo fight that looked like that. I found it extremely entertaining because the intention was a freak show, not a fight.

Fair. However Kimbo did look like he knew more and had more skill than Dada 5000. That's not saying much however

Well yeah, Kimbo was on the Ultimate Fighter and had a fight in the UFC, so he's way more accustomed to the stage and has fought legitimate competition. However, he's only had 1 fight since then before last night that looked to be an obvious fix against Ken Shamrock.

Those last two fights were not a good look for Bellator. They have some good fighters but the end of the show was WWEesque.

Agreed. I think Bellator just signed Benson Henderson.

So apparently Dada 5000 had a heart attack at the end of the fight last night.

They have good guys, but they cant touch the UFC, so they have to put on the freak shows to get eyes on their promotion.

Honestly, the only reason I watch Bellator is because one of my former player, Brian Rogers, fights for them.

I'm hoping Bellator continues its rise and acquires ONE or at least buys the contract of Ben Askren. It's the biggest travesty in MMA that we don't get to see him beat quality opponents twice a year.

I'm a huge fan of Ben. I understand why Dana doesn't want him in the UFC, but I think it's a mistake. His style may be "boring", but if he can be the Champ that way, so be it.

He's had an up and down career but is a really good kid. He started at ILB for me for 4 years in college and was an all-American caliber player. We still stay in contact today.

Do you like the boxing style of Mayweather? Just asking

Yes and no. I appreciate his excellence, but I also understand why you wouldn't want to spend money to watch it. I think the same thing applies to Ben.

Unless you're a big fan of grappling, you struggle to appreciate him. And the casual MMA fan is not.

I think it may have come full circle. At one time, it may have been boring to see guys like Fitch use high level wrestling to survive but Askren uses wrestling offensively, to physically dominate and smother guys. Now a days, I hear a lot of guys complain that wrestling has died in MMA. I get the blood lust factor of MMA but there is nothing more satisfying to me than watching world class wrestlers neutralize other disciplines. What is the most disappointing is watching world class wrestlers NOT use their skills and become brawlers. When Johnny Hendricks refuses to shoot a double and instead relies on haymakers to win fights, THAT'S boring to me. In a way, it's poetic justice that he keeps losing to strikers.

The problem is, Dana White came from boxing and he admires boxers more than grapplers because that's his background and his focus groups continue to tell him the same thing.

I agree with a lot of what you're saying, but I am active on the MMA boards and you'd be surprised how many people don't. On one hand it's frustrating, but then again, having a Welterweight Champ like Robbie Lawler is fun as hell and there's no denying that.

Gotcha. I'm not on the boards, I go out to a couple of bars in AZ and SoCal that hold watch parties and it seems the guys that show up are guys who either workout at MMA gyms or are former wrestlers. So maybe sample size may be too small. I guess the only ones that matter are the ones who buy the PPV or attend the events.
