Good news for all the Michigan craft fans:

I was at the Total Wine & More in Laguna Hills, CA on Saturday and my new best friend was stocking the shelves with Founders, Bell's and Short's. She worked for Harbor Dist. which is owned by Reyes out of Chicago. They have obviously struck a deal to get the Michigan stuff coast to coast. She then asked me if I was from Michigan and when I told her I was from NWI she gleefully told me something is in the works with 3 Floyd's. Maybe the boys at 3 Floyd's liked the $1 Beeeelion Modelo paid for Ballast Point? I hope so, the only beer I have to jump through hoops for is 3 Floyd's and I was born 15 minutes from them.

Now on to Deschutes. I met the Deschutes rep at Buffalo Wild Wings a few months ago and he turned me onto their Inversion IPA. It holds its own even in the SoCal market. I always thought of Deschutes as something closer to New Belgium than to Stone. But Deschutes will surprise you. Their Chainbreaker White IPA is the perfect beach beer, everyone likes Fresh Squeezed but check this link below and look at The Dissident and The Abyss from their Reserve series. They're absolutely awesome.

I can find most of the Midwest beers (Founders, FFF, Bells, etc.). I sent ZD to bkess last year, so he can vouch for my trustworthiness .

I have been looking for PTE or PTY (or any other Russian River beers). I have a Speedway Stout waiting in my fridge. If you have anything from this area that you want to get your hands on let me know and I'll go on the prowl.

I dig just about anything but sours or lambics or any of that crap... but just about anything else.

When I find some PTE you will be the first to get some PROMISE!

You're second buddy!

Haha, just kidding. But I do want some. So not kidding.

Edit: I had a few bottles last year thanks to Bluto. I think there's a lot of guys on the "I'd like some Pliny list". Hit them up first. Steelhead for one I think.

Probably has been stated, but how does one ship beer?

Carefully? It really depends on what you're shipping. Fill the box with balled up newspaper or packing peanuts no matter what. Single bottles you individually bubble wrap or wrap with something soft. If you're only shipping a few bottles make sure the box is packed tight with whatever and put the bottles in the corners. Four packs and sixers I just leave them in the box and then wrap the whole thing tight with bubble wrap or a couple old t shirts or whatever. Then wrap the whole thing in tape if you want. Finally tell whoever is shipping it to throw a fragile sticker on it.

Now who's got my Pure Hoppiness and Heady Topper?

Man, Jackalope hooked a brother up! The trade was mighty successful. If anybody ever had any doubts, he's definitely a good trading partner.
