Regarding the defense: As shitty as the entire team played today, defense only "gave up" 10 points. And they defended their end of the field all night.

We looked like a high school team today. I hate to bash the coaches, but Haywood MUST not be calling the plays for this team any more. That was the worst called game I have ever seen in my entire life (and I watched every game last year). Haywood has no idea what works. Twice he ran toss plays on 4th and 1 and both times we were stopped. I remember a few weeks ago when we couldn't be stopped on short yardage on the Quarterback fucking sneak...where was that today. Jimmy had a terrible game, but lets not write him off. I'm not sure he's ever faced a cover 2...but he obviously needs some work if he ever faces it again. Again, I don't think the playcalling helped much. I don't understand how we can't run the ball when they drop their linebackers (and sometimes even the D-Linemen) back every time. Armando Allen may be fast, but he can not juke anybody when he is one on one. Cierre Wood can not get here fast enough.

Last point I want to make is that penalties and turnovers absolutely killed us today. That can't be blamed on the coaches...that is on the players. I am embarrassed of how our team played today.

Our QB has more starts than plenty of Juniors. I don't have a problem with our D. They're doing OK. If 1 of our RBs was THE MAN, we wouldn't be playing all 3 of them. They are not inconsistent, we haven't beat a good team yet. We've beaten bad teams so far. Inconsistent would mean we have beaten a good team one week and lost the next...that is not the case.

You can't blame bad coaching on Charlie, because he only has limited ability with playcalling and he racks up elite recruiting classes. I totally agree that the offensive cord. should go, no doubt but stop blaming Charlie!

He is the HEAD COACH. Let's say that this was a business (which it actually is). Charlie is the CEO. Latina is the VP of sales. When sales decrease every year, it's the CEO's job to fire the VP. If the CEO decides not to fire the VP than he's made the decision to go down with the ship. He's the manager here, it his job to get his employees to produce results and if they don't....than they should be dismissed. If he doesn't want to dismiss them, than he will have to be dismissed with them.

Latina needs to go and Tenuta should follow him out the door.

I agree with much of what you posted, and have no doubt C. Wood is a great back, but it seems like we are now always looking to the next great recruit. Unless some coaching changes, it won't matter if we have 8* recruits.

It could also be that BC is a much team than ND. That stuff happens. They looked about 3 inches taller per man than ND when camera angles showed teams lining up. I guess I can check both teams rosters and compare, but, that would take way too much effort.

This game was bad on so many levels. Jimmy was soooo telegraphing his passes tonight. It looks like he's regressed a little as far as decision making goes. These results do not speak well of Charlie's ability to get his team ready after a disappointing loss. We got manhandled tonight. I keep telling myself that they are young and with that comes inconsistent play and sometimes downright horrible play. If I see this same thing next year, I'll be the first to say Charlie needs to go. What we have to understand is that many of our top performers are freshmen and sophomores. Most of our front seven on defense are freshmen and sophomores. It's true that we aren't that good this year. We're not bad, but we aren't that good either. I'm to the point where I'm just going to DVR the games and find something else to do while the game is on. I can't watch this kind of effort anymore. I believe we'll win the next two games. Then we'll get smoked by USC.

Even with 4 pics, JC is not all to blame. He has weak protection, no run game, etc. He is much better this year than I thought he'd be (this game aside) There are much bigger problems that need to be addressed.

I can't say that I've been impressed by having Tenuta around. The blitzes are so obvious they are useless. Latina should be cleaning toilets out at the bus terminal.

I do look around and see young guys succeeding. I see some young guys at ND doing well.

But, the best teams don't have a core of freshmen and sophomores. Tebow was good because the rest of the team was experienced (Zook recruits). Noel Devine is good because West Virginia has a core of veterans. They are on experienced teams.

Where is our core? Who on our defense is legit? I might give you Bruton. But we simply don't have the blue chip guys in the junior and senior classes that we do in the freshman and sophomore classes.

Again, if we suck in two years, Weis should be fired.

Believe me, I'm as frustrated as you are. But, we have to relax just a touch.

They did and they are extremely well coached. But 3 of the 4 INTs were just erratic throws or decisions by Jimmy. Whoever our coach is next year needs to sit him down and get him to start reading a defense.

I don't think that this BC team was better than ND by a long shot. The just wanted it more. They have HEART! I said last week that they couldn't wait for us to come to town and was told that I was crazy. We will never beat a so-so team if we don't play with any passion. Anyone can get up for a loser like Washington. When the chips are down and you need to come up with a big win, that is when you need to dig deep and show the heart of a Champion. I can respect a team that leaves it all out on the field. This team leaves it in South Bend.

Both their RB's are freshman...if we do not win it all next year we will have almost a totally new OL the year after that so how is this going to get any better with the current coaching staff? Youth is the norm in college football...bad coaching accross the board is not!

No matter how good the guys coming in are, if the coaching staff can't teach 4* and 5* guys to block and tackle, what's the point? We get out-coached every game.

You're right. BC's "D" was in the Top 10 coming in and they looked every bit the part. You're also right on the second count. I try not to blame officials for wins/losses but some of the early calls were just awful. That phantom chop block call really kicked started things but a good team would overcome that call. We aren't a good team and couple that with being an incredibly young team and those kind of calls will kill you.
