Baseball Trade Deadline

My friends who are Tigers fans hate the deal. I'm so confused. Jackson wasn't hitting at all this year and Price >>>>>>Smyly. I don't understand how this isn't a great deal for the Tigers esp. since Price is signed through next year.

Not saying I dont like the trade but listening to the call in shows this afternoon people are not happy for a few reasons:

Tigers rotation was already strong, improving it wasnt a priority.
Tigers have no depth at CF. There is no viable option there now. Other OF positions are a liability defensively, Jackson covered a lot of ground out there.
Tigers bullpen is terrible, Soria is providing no value right now. Unless Price can pitch in the pen too, they're still in big trouble there.
Smyly probably would have gone to the pen in the playoffs and provided some good innings and gotten some big outs.
Adames (SS Rays got from Tigers) has had a meteoric rise over the past few months and was one of the best prospects in an alleged weak farm system.
