14 on varisty? those crazy OK ppl....
In CA, you have to be 15 to play a varsity contact sport(or at least it was that way when I was in HS, way back when). Otherwise I would have played on varsity at 14. I was a big mean nose guard, now i'm 35, fatter, slower, and getting invaded by gray hair.

Mike Gandy was starter at 14 in HS. He was 16 when he committed to ND. Rumor had it Holtz promised his mom there'd be a baby sitter in the dorm. She didn't know that every ND dorm has one.
Mike was a 3rd round draft choice.
