Notre Dame beats USC

Evan Sharpley is our new starter. Plain and simple. The offense AND defense seem to respond to him better. Sharpley is a better scrambler than Jimmy and he just seems to make the big play (converting 2 big 3rd downs) Yes Evan Sharpley wasnt great but it was late in the game and he seemed to be rushing too many throws but at the same time I think if he would have started he wouldnt have been under so much pressure. I think this will change next week when he starts the game against our much HATED rival trojans. He will have a good week of practice to work on these high passes and near picks and come saturday Notre Dame comes out in the "Green Shirts" and beats Southern Cal 28-27. Yes people mark that down I SAID IT: Notre Dame 28 Usc 27!

The last two weeks, USC has been very beatable. If that trend continues, we'll give them a game. Our defense is not bad, we need to get more pressure on their QB. Our O-Lines needs to pick up a blitz. But Evan looked pretty good and made decisions quickly. I like our odds.

I grew up in Socal and I hate USC too. I moved to Maryland when USC was getting good and it makes me sick to see all the SC fans come out of the woodwork. 90% of USC fans are bandwagonners. I was at Disneyland the day before the Rose Bowl vs Texas and Everyone was wearing USC (or Texas) attire. The Texas people were for real. The USC people were just being trendy. I like UCLA a lot compared to USC.

One thing not mentioned yet... OJ.

This game could be to the extreme one way or the other. We may get mercy ruled, or we may play inspired ball and not make any mistakes while they do the opposite and we win. I will assume the first and tune in hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

This is a huge rivalry game. The history of great teams, great players, Heismans, National Championships, great games... come on. The Miami rivalry was great, but it does not really compare. Catholics v. Convicts was awesome, but history wise you have to go USC.

I remember as a 6 year old kid, choosing Notre Dame as my favorite team. I had no reason to because my family had no ties to any college whatsoever. I HATED WHEN NOTRE DAME LOST TO SOUTHERN CAL. It was the good guys against the bad guys. I never hated Southern Cal though. I respected their football team and was disappointed somewhat when they had bad years. Kinda took away from the buttwhoopin ND game them.

I HATED Miami though.

I think most ND fans don't HATE USC, they just hate LOSING to USC. Most of my ND fan friends have a lot of respect for USC. They don't like them, but they don't HATE them.

I don't hate USC, I just hate everything that comes with USC. I have a lot of respect for what Pete has done over there, but I get very frustrated with the amount of media attention that is paid to them. And the fact that my best friend from high school goes to USC and is very obnoxious about it sure doesn't help.
