Leading UCLA 17-14 with less than 4 minutes to go UW punted - for 28 yds to the UCLA 27. After an incomplete pass, UCLA QB Drew Olsen hit 6 passes in a row. TB Maurice Drew scored on a rush from the 1 for the lead.

After a touchback on the K.O., UW QB Stanback was sacked on first down than the Huskies lose the ball on downs.

Huskies snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Notre Dame beat Ty last week.

It's over. Everyone should have closure. Enjoy the fact that NOTRE DAME IS BACK.

I hope Ty wins as much as possible out there. ND needs the points for whatever stupid ranking system is out there.

I agree I dont think anybody on this board should ever bring up any former coach or player of Notre Dame , shame on you for starting this thread and voicing your observation BGIF, cant you see that there are people that do not want to talk about ND history good or bad.

Tyrone Willingham will continue to be the butt of criticism for years to come. If people don't want to hear us make fun of him, PLUG YOUR EARS. Personally. he set Notre Dame back many years with recruiting. I know we have the players now, but that was before his recruiting dropped off. We are already seeing the Ty-effect, because we have no depth at any position besides WR. I hate Tyrone. I Hopefully, ND has learned a lesson out of this Tyrone experiment, never hire a coach not familar with the traditions of ND. He didn't even let RUDY address the team, for God sakes. Tyrone is a loser, and unfortunately for Washington, he brought his loser ways with him. He will continue to loose no matter where he goes, regardless of his talent.

It's two weeks until USC....WHO F*CKING CARES ABOUT THIS GUY ANYMORE!!!

Instead of plugging OUR ears, plug YOUR mouths about this crap. So everytime Washington loses we're going to post something about it. NO. If you're going to continue wasting space and time talking about Tyrone Willingham, be my guest. Okay, he's a loser and blah blah blah. Great. He's not Notre Dame's problem anymore. 36-17, remember?

Plenty of other message boards out there that want to talk about present and future.

I'll tell you what I am tired of in regards to Ty, I am tired of everyone saying that Charlie is winning with Ty's players. Well if that is the case, I don't remember people saying that Ty was going 10-3 with Davie's players. Ty may have recruited them, but Charlie is now getting them to play to their full potental.

Media guide = head coach Charlie Weis.

Say no more.

I can agree with basically everyone who is posting about Ty or the one's who don't want to hear about it anymore.

Look, I am one of the biggest Ty haters there is. I can't stand to see him (with his one finger up in the air after a score), nor can I stand to listen to him talk (press conferences justifying every loss). I will be the first to say that the fact that he has gone elsewhere, and is failing miserably, kinda brings a smile to my face. BUT, the man is human and he WAS our coach through the good, bad, and ugly.

NOW, we are two weeks before the USC game (probably the biggest game of the year for us), and people are still harping onTy. You know what...let a dead dog sleep. We beat him at his new home with his old players. That is it. It's over. Enough is enough.

The future is bright at South Bend. We have kids coming in next year that we could not get under Ty. ND knows it, Charlie knows it, and yes...Ty knows it. I think that we should remember that he WAS one of us not so long ago. Yes, he almost drove the program into the ground. Yes, he got his balls handed to him year in and year out against USC. Yes, he lost the season opener to BYU last year. You know what, HE'S NOT OUR PROBLEM ANY MORE. Let the Admin. at WU worry about it.

I had my closure when we had more points than they did at the end of the game. Forget about Ty, and focus on the future.

I can't stand Ty, but he is the past. C-Dub is the future.

THE END

I have said this before and Im sure I will piss people off again when I say it again...
This is a Notre Dame football board. People should feel free to discuss anything concerning ND football past or present. And that means ANYTHING.

Do I want to spend the rest of my life talking about Ty NO, but if somebody makes an observation about Ty he should be able to voice his observation without catching crap about it. Ty is apart of ND history, there is a section on this board concerning ND history. If people want to talk about TY they should be able to.

So needless to say if BGIF and IowaDomer want to talk about him they should be able to.
If somebody does not want to talk about Ty or Baer it would be simple to not click on the thread that is titled with their name on it. I dont know why we are getting mad at eachother, this is a ND website. Ty is apart of ND history.

People talk about Davie don't they? They talk about former players and coaches. I dont see why Ty should bve exempt.

History being the key word in that sentence. Done. Over. Finished.

Bob Davie has been gone for four years, so I don't see him getting nearly as much thread space out here. And he's no longer coaching either, which helps. If anything, he is exempt more than anyone else.

This post had zero to do with Ty's place in ND's books. They blew a game against UCLA...so what? I'm glad he's gone. I 'm glad Urban took the job down in Florida, too.

Jeff Samardzija, Darrin Walls, Brady Quinn, Rashon Powers Neal....great things to be discussing.

I get your point BMF, but let's be real here. If anything, TW winning helps ND's strength of schedule. It's pretty obvious the right decision was made. To me, any talk about those guys is wasted energy. I hope he wins. I hope Davie comes back and coaches again someday. But unless they play Notre Dame, I don't really care. There is too much to be positive and excited about now.

Finishing this up. Yes always concentrate on NOW. But we have too many 'instant WIN now wannabe people, players and fans.'

Always.Always remember "Those who fail to learn from History are doomed to repeat it." If you had bad heating fuel bills or car payments last year cause you overspent a bit.Dont do it 2005. Learn.

This is what Iowadomer meant

Was in a chat room sports watching the USC guys crow. I merely reminded them "No one wins forever." You think that wrong? Go check history.

Whatevercomes down the road for ND I know the wins will pile up in the future with Weis and Company....but we won't win forever. We did not under Ara, Rockne or Holtz.

One day at a time. None of this means don't cheer ND on.but keep a level head.

Miami, Florida State, Oklahoma and Penn State all found this out. Very good point. It goes in cycles.
