He looks pretty solid. That team is just absolutely stacked. I see why the local schools are complaining about them being in the same division.

Our future QB had some nice passes in there, too. Also loved how he got out to block and even picked up a LB in the secondary to spring him. Gonna add this vid to Clausen's profile, too.

The play with JC rolling right and throwing on the run from the 25 to the back corner of endzone was impressive. Also a great catch but couldn't tell if he was in.

Saw a free article on Rivals about a month ago saying that Marshall Jones is a poor student. No chance of getting into ND.

Some are claiming he is the best safety prospect in the country, so when I noticed ND hadn't extended a scholarship offer, that conclusion became obvious.

Unfortunately, his performance in the classroom won't be an issue with certain other "schools".

He's a Top 100 guy right now and with ND's interest in JC, Tyler and Matthews I can't see why they wouldn't throw their hats into the ring unless there was an issue.

Looks good on film.

Oaks Christian DB now has over 20 offers

By Rick Kimbrel, Recruiting Analyst – Rivals.com

It's hard to believe that Westlake, Calif., Oaks Christian arguably could have three of the nation's top ten players at any position.

While the talents of Jimmy Clausen and Marc Tyler have been well documented and their names have become synonymous with the country's best there is a case that Marshall Jones (6-0, 185, 4.5) is the nation's best safety prospect.

Jones has over 20 offers on the table and just last week he received one from USC when Pete Carroll and Steve Sarkisian were on campus.

There is a good reason why Jones is so highly regarded.

"Marshall is John Lynch with speed," Oaks Christian coach Bill Redell said. "He will knock your block off."

"Marshall is the best hitter I have coached in my 19 years on the high school level," Redell said. "He will almost rather hit you than pick off a pass."

"We actually have to reel him in a little bit," Redell said. "He's very aggressive."

"Marshall takes a lot of pride in his hitting ability," Redell said. "He's also a very good open field tackler."

"Marshall has everything you would want a big time safety to have," Redell said. "He has great range and not only is he fast, Marshall has football speed. He can cover a lot of ground in a very short time."

Besides USC, Jones offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Washington State, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Nebraska and Michigan among others.

Oaks Christian has nine players on its team who have scholarship offers to D-I schools. While there is no time limit when any of them will commit they would like to get them all committed before September so they can concentrate on their schooling and their senior season.

It wouldn't be surprising if Jones makes his pledge sometime before his senior season.

He has an offer from Michigan, other than that one, you don't have to have real good grades to go to any of the other schools. Hate to give credit to Michigan like that, but compared to the other schools, they are the best academically.
