So, we are really going to act like Penn St. didn't soundly win the first half and lost the game by a fg? I think it was fucking grit from the players, and coaches making the right adjustments that won the game. Marcus being pissed off at Franklin trying to big brother him is pretty far down on my "things that won the game" list. If I'm wrong I have faith I'll be corrected.

I hope Bowden's disrespect is repaid by running up the score on those fuckers, forever, or until they quit the rivalry because they know they'll never win..

You know, I'm but an anonymous poster, but Chadwick is eventually going to piss me off enough, that I'm going to end up laying bare for all to see, every single one of his shortcomings.

I mean, BK only took shots at the University, facilities, food, and players on his way out. This prick has MMFF in his crosshairs and I hope he’s exposed.

Traits:

- Socio-economic cross relational flexibility

- Interpersonal skills

- Attention to detail

- Punctuality

- Ability to quickly adapt

- Ability to close

If I'm reading between the lines here, Chad had some issues relating with others who weren't born with a silver spoon in their mouth and everything handed to them....

So many inferences to be made between these two posts... Can't wait...

Without Marcus, Bowden would be asking people if they want fries with that. You think he would have some respect from the guy who dragged him into this million dollar contract, but that kind of ego explains why we missed on recruits. This program with a real GM is about to shock the world. I truly believe that. Kids today care about "aura" and everything about this program screams aura.

Although I love calm & informed Merckxe
I kinda want to find out if Angry Merckxe is my favorite Merckxe
Agree I loved how fired up Merckx was before the A&M game or how much Franklin pissed him off at that press conference.

From Wiki: Merckx is a Dutch patronymic surname, from the given name Merk / Merkus, a regional form of Mark / Marcus

It’s right in front of us. Merckx is Marcus. Marcus is Merckx.

Before I begin:

I feel it’s important to note that Chad did come across well to some individual recruits, and indeed, he did form personal bonds with several which yielded commitments.

However:

- Chad has consistently been provided opportunities based on family connections, and/or friendships he’s formed over the years.

- Early on “his approach” was little more than him being clownish and/or cosplaying as if he were someone fresh out of high school.

- He would often attempt to directly relate to recruits by trying to emulate their culture/experiences/personalities. Most of the time this approach either fell flat, or was but mildly amusing to many recruits, and their families. However, in some cases, it went over as if he was being fake, and it often was off-putting to recruits, and their families.

- It was common for recruits to make fun of Chad to one another.

- In some cases, recruits actively avoided communication with Chad because he annoyed them.

- His approach was rarely professional or organized. Indeed, it was often entirely fragmented.

- He fancies himself as having a keen eye for identifying talent, especially diamonds in the rough. However, as with most aspects of Chad’s career, his view of himself doesn’t mesh with reality. He pushed this self developed narrative so much, Marcus began regularly making fun of him about it. Chad never fully realized this was in fact pissing Marcus off the longer it went on.

- His constant self promotion, and desire for recognition for his “value, and contributions to the program” was eye-rolling at best, and downright off-putting at worst, amongst many of the most influential people within the program.

- Chad is allergic to criticism, and he often complained - no, whined - to others about the lack of respect, and acknowledgement he was receiving for his work.

- Over time, it became more, and more common for others to pick up the pieces of his screw ups.

- He was often overwhelmed by the totality of his position.

- As time went on, and he continued to leverage his personal friendship with Marcus to cover for his ever more noticeable lack of competence, his relationship with Marcus began to fracture; first, professionally; then, more personally.

- By the end of his tenure, he had single digit allies within the program.

- When he left, there was no concern; rather, many were openly happy he was leaving.

What we are seeing, and reading is little more than an overgrown child who’s acting out about perceived slights “he endured”, which has no basis in reality.

Chad is a man who’s been propped up most of his career. USC’s only saving grace in this situation is that they are perhaps the one school where his antics may go over well.
So he is a teenager in a 30 year old's body. Makes sense.

@Merckxe525

What are the thoughts inside the program of Pete vs. Jack (both in the AD role and personally)? Obviously, it's pretty early in Pete's tenure, but thoughts on initial/current feelings are appreciated!

Excited to see what ND can do post Bowden with the recent Merckxe update. Clearly, ND can do much better. A real NIL program and a highly motivated administration can get this program competing for and ultimately winning titles regularly. Love the Martin hire already as he's known to be a highly adept scout and eye for talent with NFL experience and should bring professionalism.

So what you’re saying is Martin is not Irish Football/Torpedo Vegas/Polk High?

Wait a second... if Lincoln Riley is such a great recruiter and evaluator of talent, their team and recruiting classes must have been really good the last couple of years?? RIght???
Well in all fairness, he didn't say he was a great coach. lol
