I picked oklahoma state.I don't think they have much of a defense and a decent scoring offense, but 'bama doesn't have much of anything this year.Their defense wasn't all that stellar this year(i think)
Early game and I'll be watching just for my love of college football.

I'm going with OK St. You just gotta think that Alabama can't be all that focused without a head coach. They also have zero offense and zero quality wins. Tou "earn" this bowl berth, they went 6-6 beating hawaii, vandy, louisiana monroe, mississippi, duke, and florida international.

Oklahoma State at least beat Nebraska (the other 5 wins came against cream puffs including missourri state, arkansas state, florida atlantic, kansas and baylor.

Does anyone really want to watch the 8th pkace big 12 team and the 9th place SEC team battle it out? Not that I really care about watching two 6-6 teams play, but I think Okla State will take 'em.

They should rename this bowl "the .500 bowl".

With or without Shula Bama still doesn't have an effective Offensive Coordinator which was perceived as Shula's major shortcoming (right behind the losing streak to Auburn and losing to Miss St.)

OK ST is showing how you beat that "SEC DEFENSIVE SPEED". You bang it up the middle. Unfortunately, that's not our strong suit.

Alabama is not representing the SEC d very well. 24 points in the 1st half. They are giving SEC haters like me all kinds of fuel. Man, I love bowl games. I love interconference games.

Keep in mind that you are watching the 9th place SEC team play the 8th or 9th place Big 12 team. I don't think these 2 teams as representing the quality of their conferences. When you start getting down to the bottom of the barell, it's not always the same as what's in the middle and on top.

But I agree, Alabama isn't looking all that great.

This ended up being a good game. Alabama stayed within striking distance and got back in the game.

By the way, it was dumb of OSU to cvall timeout with 13 seconds left. They used their last timeout. why not wait until 3 seconds left?

they called that time cause it was third down and if there was a bad snap are something they could throw it out of bounds are something and still have another down to kick field goal.

That's what the commentators said, but if it was 3rd down and they had a bad snap that would make it 4th down. They couldn't spike the ball at that point to set up a field goal.

Yes, they would need to throw the ball out of bounds on a bad snap or at least an incomplete pass, because if they got tackled or dwoned the ball, the game would have been over and going into OT.

I still say you wait til 3 seconds left and kick the FG. More than likley, a bad snap with 13 seconds left or 3 seconds left still ends the game. The actual chances of throwing an incomplete pass on a bad snap are low. Usually a bad snap results in a tackle for loss.

Again, if they had another timeout left, then I could possibly see doing this. That way, with a bad snap you call timeout and get another chance. Even at that though, I still think the best thing is to play the percentages that you will have a good snap and hold and let the clock run to 3 seconds. Why give the opponent a chance to make a special teams play on the kickoff to beat you? Kick the FG with 3 seconds and either win it right then or miss it and go to OT.

This is obviously true, BUT this is the same Alabama team that all SEC teams that beat them (especially Florida) like to hang their hat on and claim as a quality win. They can't have it both ways.
