By the year after next, no one will remember or care. Paging Jason White....
He's not the only one. Over the last two decades, the quarterbacks who won the Heisman have been very weak choices. A sure sign that the spirit and intention of the award had lost it's meaning.
1986 - Vinny Testaverde - Miami
1989 - Andre Ware - Houston
1990 - Ty Detmer - BYU
1992 - Gino Torretta - Miami
1993 - Charlie Ward - FSU
1996 - Danny Wuerffel - Florida
2000 - Chris Weinke - FSU
2001 - Eric Crouch - Nebraska
2002 - Carson Palmer - USC
2003 - Jason White - Oklahoma
2004 - Matt Leinart - USC
Only Vinnie, Ty, and Carson have proved to be able to compete at the NFL level.
Probably Matt too, although it's too early to be certain.
